Lie to me...
Until we have a generation of people strong enough to handle looking at the truth of all possibilities in reasonableness and not say 'this can't happen to us', then people will always have a wish to be lie to. Pair that with the fact that when a large group of people get together a need for governance will occur, and this forms the basis for the birth of politicians. Politicians will function and feed with in the bounds set by the votes, masses and mobs, ie the people. If the politicians are permitted to abuse the system for too long unchecked to the point trust is truly broken compulsive lies and greed and the government is compromised by massive corruption, then revolution and war occurs. At that stage the government no longer serves, cares or protects it's people. Revolution just doesn't happen. People don't general like massive change on a massively large scale that bring large uncertainty like governmental change brings.A great upwelling of discontent, and as well as other factors must take place. Discontent and corruption alone are not enough. How many people have ever felt the following ways? Save my feelings, lie to me. Take a bit of my money, as long as I'll have a job though out the year. Wither these feelings are right or wrong, politicians don't need to worry about such things. These feelings are human nature and unfortunately for us, fodder of people who like to use others. Can we hear the truth? First, we must have a desire to do so.Which I have already talked about. But want to say one more thing. Instead of freaking out when our children first start to break the rules we have of them; let them tell us the truth , let them face the consequences for breaking the rules that we set down for them, and let us show them love for their choices and honesty. Second, we must not get bogged down by so much stress and obligation. On the note of obligations, I wonder how much is caused by the political system to keep us from hearing them? I think of Roman emperors and their distracting circus. Have we even trained ourselves to do this for the politicians?
Maybe we all can become citizens who can participate in our own governance, both big and small.
