Media messages: do they really tell the truth? Or just give you a water-downed version of the real story? Mostly, all forms of media messages aren’t telling the whole truth when they report. If a reporter goes to a neighborhood where someone has just been shot, who are they most likely to interview: the black man with dreadlocks, low pants, fake diamond stuck in his right earlobe, and a look of weariness in his eyes. Or the elderly white man, his pants hitched securely 2 inches from his chest by neutral brown suspenders. The innocent bystander: an elderly man who can be found humming to an old show-tune while he rocks on his swing and waves to the children. Or someone who could possibly been involved, his shirt moving to the side to reveal a tattoo that says ONLY GOD IS MY JUDGE.
