What is reality,
but a life of work.
Only in rare moments
can you smile and smirk.
They say time flies
when you have fun.
Your head is in the clouds,
and in a moment its done.
Time only goes slow
in moments of distress.
Alas, time is a witch,
a cruel mistress.
A successful life can be
a life of hard work,
Should sloth control you,
you will have a future of murk.
Life these days won't
let you sit back and chill.
No, you can live only by
developing an iron will.
We all wish we could
just be able to live in relaxation.
Sadly, that always has to
wait till a time of vacation.
We suffer from gruesome illnesses,
for most are undeserved retribution.
If only all these horrors had some
sort of universal medication.
There is no escape from reality,
no matter how much you dream.
Our lives are limited by the hands
of the maleficent devil's scheme.
Even so, one should not mope,
rather be more optimistic.
Appreciate what good you have,
not be envious and materialistic.
A person must have ambition
to survive in these harsh times.
Many obstacles will be in one's way,
and they will resort to crimes.
To live, one must have a goal.
Without one, there is endless ambiguity.
We all have to make choices in life.
That's just reality.
