Hmmm...something that I would describe college would be: Independent Other than the funds, I'm pretty much a loner in college, but lately I've been having problems in my math class since I get quizzes in formats I've never experienced before. Instead of just giving out some formulas and telling me to solve, I get these worded questions asking why the formula given is not a function and explain the concept of a parabola...or something like that! I also don't understand his grading. I'm actually getting 25s and 15s on these quizzes, and I try to add them out so some percentage but can't. I know I'm failing these and yet I don't know by how much! All I know is that I now need some tutoring...so anyone know college algebra? Because I do know it, just not in such a format as this. I guess I should read the textbook, but those things are pointless; they just give out the answers and don't state why that is the answer. Sure there are step-by-step instructions, but there are many ways to solve a problem. Sometimes, my instructor wants me to answer in a certain way as well. One thing that really pisses me off nowadays is that I'm even given homework ONLINE! Hey, may not be to you, but the Internet was supposed to be my sanctuary from all the work and into this little lala land called Gaia, (Yahoo! IM or Myspace xp ), not work. The only use of the Internet when it involves work is when I research. I love researching...I learn new things everyday. College is such a drag when it comes to work, like math, but overall, it's pretty peaceful and fun. Living away from my parents' jibbering and my brother's constant jabbering about cars...Yeah, college is teh st! (ha!)
