You hold it with the fury only a scion could summon at the behest of the clouds.
Do not be mine, Be me.
For you are the everything I would give up for you.
I will cut off my eyelids for fear of not seeing you when I blink.
---
I've seen the eleven crows with eyes
The carrion soldier of armies since dined on
She waits for their wives to be happy
This girl with bright legs believes the crows suffer from grieving
She lives in the workhouse and slaves for the poorhouse and waits for her own house to fall
That one which is brighter than white dwarves and their fathers
That maid whose brigandine is stained with good nature
With a face so unwanting that dancers might hate her
I have seen her covered in mud and the sight was betrayed by her skin, ever porcelain
I've seen her knee-deep in swine and coarse carcass but no sky has ever seen such a rain
As the one that cleansed Parma as karma thanked her one name
She has become a paragon upon my one planet
And is willing to split herself in two
If I ever had a lover, a keeper, or a wife,
I would want it to be she, who is the moon, who is you.
------
I know a girl by the riverside
But she's so far away and the terrestrial tide is unforgiving
I've never heard her voice and it kills me to know
That she ever wants for love, that she's ever alone
So this girl I know about
I have to get her good
See, it's deadly in the city and I run when I should
So I should be able to run to the country
Where the earth doesn't tremble and the people don't want me
Namely she with eyes like tea
And the saddest stare you will have ever seen
She's the statue, she's the tower
She's the day and she's the hour
And I have to find her
I have to move
I have to get there
I have to prove
That I can get this girl I know good
And if she needs protecting, I wouldn't run if I could
------
I've been twiddling my thumbs on the drawstrings of drums
I want to never put on band-aids with you
I want to knee-crop my pants and retort that you're much too short
I want to race and never have a clue
I'm here to jump from that rock into the most dangerous lake
And let you braid my hair into the longest keepsake
To only be adventurous when I'm not protecting truth
To only want to play-fight when I'm not protecting you
You're a teacher at the lighthouse and you always watch the waves
And Warner tries to woo you with the things he's gonna save
And now we're so much older I am leaving off to school
Your mama doesn't like me and she thinks that I'm a fool
And that I'll run back down the meadow in my full university suit
Hey Jill it's been too long since I've tumbled down hills with you
----------
I know a place
Somewhere past space
You've got a familiar face and I know you
I know a place that I'll show you
The grass is greener there, so I burned it
I'll take you to this place, friend you've earned it.
I know a place you'll go.
But don't plant a damn thing.

I lost my heart in a tar pit and instead of retrieving it, I think of Cessative. The resonance of her name is more comforting than the rhythm replaced in my chest.
I killed my greatest brother in the drama of war and he had only these wishes in his dying breath, "Watch my family. Hold thy Heavenly Lord. Feel our Earthly Lord. Remember me. Love thy Cessative."
Wings grew from me and as I taught myself the wanderings of Pythagoras to hide my abomination, I found a veil. It was Cessative's. I put it over my torso and I was man to the world again.
I walked across Babylon and eventually, the palace of the Sima, and sang poetry with the fabled Sun Wukong, and fished barehanded with Jiang TaiGong Wang, and both taught me a game to teach Cessative.
I climbed the backs of the Great Colossi and begged them native favor, 'Help me bring together the ends of the Earth, to make it round.' And they asked me why. I replied, 'So Cessative may never fall off the edges.'
I saw books that spoke of a cloth-clad myrmidon and saw my face in these annals. It was me in these libraries. Behind me were angels and powers and demons and dosi, and ints and thrones and crowns and armies and messengers and barefoot hermits. And though it took me until then to realize it, I'd only ever looked on one thing. It was Cessative.
Song written by Taran as of April 24th 2010.
We didn't throw erasers
No we never shared crayons
My movements were erratic
'Cause my legs were far to long
We didn't color on the street
They locked us by the bill
To want the things you'll never have
An arch reserved and filled
I'm laying here in bails of hay
And Miss, I can't get up
I'll never see the light of day
My hair and eyes are ********
Oh I cannot escape it
Oh was it ever real
We didn't throw erasers
You know just how it feels
I'm laying here in bails of hay
When golden turns to copper
My tie is wrapped around my waste
I know I couldn't stop her
Oh I cannot escape something
I know was never real
The lies I told are etched in bold
So deep it makes me feel like I'm lying here in bails of hay
I'm lying here in bails of hay
I wrestled with Saint Michael
I'm lying here in bails of hay
I can't control myself
I cannot wrap my head around it
I'll wrap my arms around something else.
from the past,
I thank Taran for these.
