As I think about my life, and how things will be in the future, I always see one thing and one thing only. Our Society. Our America, our "freedom", isn't as prominent as it was before. It doesn't reach our expectations anymore, of what we expect freedom to be. Think about it, education, money, and race. All these things affect our futures and how we achieve our dreams. Let's begin with education. The classes we take for the first sixteen years of our lives may seem to prepare us for life, but in my opinion its all a sham. Most of the time, school will force you to take classes that you will probably never use in the future, which in turn, take up space for the classes you DO need. Because of this, the extremely hardcore scholars can only get careers that suit what they learned, and guess what that was? But for the dream-achiever, he gets what he wants. Then comes the issue of what the makes the world go round. Money. Most specialized colleges nowadays cost much more than what the average student could afford. Then think about all the brilliant minds that are forced to live in poor conditions. As intelligent and gifted as they may be, they may never get the chance to achieve what they were born to do! Yet, even in the face of this issue, colleges only get more and more expensive every year. Then comes our last topic. Race. Even though its not as prominent today, its still there. Racial profiling is clearly evident when it comes to jobs around the world. Asians and doctors, Indians and 7/11 stores! This kind of stereotyping enrages me! Why should our outward appearance affect what we do for the rest of our life? Yet, our society still functions this way and I simply cannot accept this. Maybe once our government actually does something about these issues, maybe then can I believe in this American freedom of ours. Thnx for listening and be sure to comment ^_^
