Empowered, Day 88
Finally, I can move again... For the past month and a half, I have been running, endlessly, from a group that calls themselves the "Blades of Paladia." They are rather skilled pursuers, that is for certain, and to have injured me so gravely that until now, I could not move... They may not be human at all. I am uncertain as to how they came to pursue me in the first place, however... And I do wish that I could have brought Mori with me, but since I was being chased, I had to remain at my best, and had to leave her behind... I hope she is alright...
I have noticed some rather strange scents in the area as of late. They don't belong to any physical object, but they seem to belong to an energy instead... Sayal has told me that they are the energies of those that have fallen within the area. It would make sense, seeing as I am now in a treacherous marsh, but there are no spirits possessing the energies; The energies themselves simply run rampant, unchecked and unused for many years. It is understandable, then, for humans to die so frequently in this place... Most humans cannot effectively channel energy, and even those who can would be hard-pressed not to be overloaded with the energies that are here. Although now that I think of it, if many have died here, then there should be many weapons lying in the muck that have been laying here, the energies ingrained in the very cores of them from their time here.
I was right. Through the haze of energy, I managed to find a two-handed blade. Though now that I hold it in a less energetic place, it seems to not only have the local energies, but its own natural energy. I wonder just what this blade is capable of... I must find a way to obtain sustenance in these wastes, though. I have seen many plants, but none that are edible without supplies outside the marsh, and I haven't seen a single creature, mutated by energy or otherwise. I may have to leave here sooner than I expected to feed myself... As much of a safe haven this is for me, I am still human enough to need food, and if I can't get any near here, then I will have to leave.
