Yet another poem from another friend:
Where Soul Meets Body
I want to live where body meets soul.
Because maybe then I could be joyful.
There'd be no blood, no pain;
There'd be no loss, no gain.
No bloodshed, no tears;
No hope, and no fears.
I wouldn't have to worry what people would think
When I scrawl my feelings in permanent ink.
And it wouldn't matter how I dressed,
As long as I didn't look like a mess.
Now, tell me dear, doesn't that sound nice:
A place where your personality isn't spliced?
Let me know just how you'd feel
If I left you all to sort out this deal.
Would you be happy? Would you be sad?
Would you be excited? Would you be mad?
Now, tell me dear, where would you go
If I told you that all of this was just a show?
If I told you that place where soul meets body
Is really something false and shoddy?
And, tell me dear, what would you do
If I stood my ground right here beside you?
Would you laugh? Would you cry?
Would you dance? Would you die?
And what if I were to ask you to fend
Off all the demons when my time would end?
And hold me in your arms until I bled out?
Could you cope? Would you doubt?
How would you deal with that final moment
When my restless spirit is finally sent?
I hope you won't worry about me
Because I'm going to the place where soul meets body.
