Rick Riordan out did himself with this book. While I found Percy Jackson a bit low in language for me, Red Pyramid picked up the detail and description.
Once again its about a brother and a sister, Carter and Sadie, who's father is an archeologist. Carter travels everywhere with his father, and Sadie lives in London with her grandparents after her mothers death.
On her father's visitation, he stops by and takes the children to a museum where he is stolen away from them in. They're uncle comes by and takes both away from their grandparents into a world filled with Gods and monsters.
While it sounds similar to Percy Jackson, I found it really wasn't. I enjoyed this much more than his previous series. I love the awkward relationship the brother and sister have, due to the distance they've always had between them, both figuratively and literally.
A second book should be coming next spring. A third during the following spring.
