It was much simpler than it sounded at first. In fact, once you accepted the premise that there was magic in the entire world around you, it even made sense. I even managed to gather a little bit of energy that was around the flat and got myself back to my feet- at least enough to get into a chair.
“You're going to be a terrifying mage Xan!” Saki said cheerfully.
“I'm a terrifying mage that should be in bed.” I retorted. “but I probably wouldn't be able to sleep for worry about what could go wrong with it.” 'and' I thought 'what if Cedric knows about this?' But then I shook my head. If he'd known, what would have been the point in stripping humans of their power?
For the time being, I was more powerful than he was; in theory at least.
