Ode To Summer
The early rising sun
The late falling nights
A time of sleeping in
And a time of being alone
This is one way I feel
About this coming season
It is a season of laziness
Where one can sleep all day
And stay awake all night
Watching the stars and the moon
In their slow trek across the sky
Or watch the clouds
As they lazily drift on by
Or if you’re not one to sit still
A time to head to the beach
And spend some time in the water
Or maybe travel around the world
But if you can’t travel far
You can always spend some time
With your neighbors
Unless you don’t have any
Or you just can’t stand them
In which case invite over some friends
And just have a good time
School’s out for a reason
Don’t waste the summer
By making it boring
That’s what happens
When summer’s over
The world of a student
Returns to that
Of sitting in a desk
For almost six hours straight
Listening to the teacher
Drone on about some complex problem
That we can’t even begin to understand
But somehow we’re supposed to
This doesn’t seem much of an ode
Or even a poem
As it really has no form
It seems just a bunch of lines
Rambling on about summer
Well hey, we all get
To get carried away
Once in a while, right?
The late falling nights
A time of sleeping in
And a time of being alone
This is one way I feel
About this coming season
It is a season of laziness
Where one can sleep all day
And stay awake all night
Watching the stars and the moon
In their slow trek across the sky
Or watch the clouds
As they lazily drift on by
Or if you’re not one to sit still
A time to head to the beach
And spend some time in the water
Or maybe travel around the world
But if you can’t travel far
You can always spend some time
With your neighbors
Unless you don’t have any
Or you just can’t stand them
In which case invite over some friends
And just have a good time
School’s out for a reason
Don’t waste the summer

And then here's another bit of writing:
The Battle Between Light And Dark
The shadows lengthen and the sun begins to set. The pale moon begins to shine forth, bringing with it cool light to counter the sun’s heat. The stars that flicker bring neither cold nor warmth, but rather watch silently like sentinels in the sky as the battle between the sun and moon continue, each winning only to lose again. The battle for the sky continues throughout time. Never ceasing as one yields only for a short amount of time only to take over the other yet again. The cycle of light and dark continues for as long as eternity or rather until light ultimately yields to the darkness going out with a burst of its final strength before leaving the glittering stars far off in the distance to provide light and warmth with neither can they do as they sit so far away.

Well, that's all for this journal entry, maybe I won't be so lazy next time and actually type up some other ones that I have written down in my many notebooks and journals... maybe... These two are actually things I typed up over the weekend while we were out camping, yeah yeah, some might say that camping is supposed to be without computers but oh well... I didn't have internet access so yeah...
