They finally took an offensive. The Federation, they called me out. Over the news and all T.V. channels, they requested that anyone who knew Zero would tell them where I could be found. They also had a ransom: if I got turned in, the T.V. channels would be restored, instead of them requesting for me over and over again.
So this is it. I’m gonna give them what they want. As I stood outside the building, I looked inside and saw that no one had recognized me. I walked through the door and walked up to the counter to check in.
“Hello how may I help you.” the woman behind the counter said. She didn’t look up, she was reading a book.
“I’m hear to see the leader of the Federation.” I replied.
“Do you have an appointment?” She didn’t look up.
“No.”
“I’ll check with one of his directors. Name?”
“Tell him Zero is here for his visit.”
“Ok, I’ll tell…tell…” she looked up, stunned to see me.
“Hi.” I replied to her face, smiling and waving.
“ZERO!” She screamed, I watched her hand come down on a big red button. Alarms went off and sirens blared. The lights went dim and these red lights spun around on the ceiling. The ceiling panels opened up and defense robots came out. They slowly hovered towards me.
“Please, I need a challenge.” I said, grabbing both bot’s arms and swinging them into each other. The force made them explode in my hands. That’s when three bullets made holes in the ground in front of me. I looked up at a ledge to see a robot with a small pistol aimed at me. I jumped at it, dodging a slow moving energy bullet, and smashed my fist through it’s core, ripping out it’s CPU. As it fell to the ground, I picked up the pistol.
“Finally, got my gun back.” I said as I scanned the gun. I let it hover in front of me as my scanner scanned it all over. A hologram outlined the gun, then it flashed and became a new pistol. I grabbed it. It looked like the old pistol that went to this armor. It was called a Rayfall gun. It was rapid fire gun that did pretty good damage and had good aim. I walked towards the stairs and began my accent.
While I was going up, I checked on the chemical floor. I killed more robots, when I found what I was looking for. There was a computer that was unlocked. I walked up to it and looked at it’s hard drive. There was a jack there where I could plug in and download the information. I put my hand out and out of the back of my hand, a small cord came out and plugged in. I downloaded the information in the Federation’s hard drive and started the accent again. If they had something to do with the freaks that were at that Bio-Corp building, I’ll know soon.
As I ran up the stairs, people began coming down in flocks, so much so, that I had to hover above their heads to go up. I kept accenting until I reached the top floor. What was there? Absolutely nothing. Just a small room with nothing inside. “So if he’s not on the top…he’s in the basement!”
My gun appeared in my right hand and I aimed it at the floor. I shot holes in the floor all around me, then jumped into the air and slammed down on the floor, collapsing a small circle of it. I kept doing this till I got to one of the last floors, since they had stacked up so high I couldn’t get past. I ran to the nearest door and burst downstairs. I wanted revenge on the Federation. Maybe it was because they’ve damned most of Gaia to suffering, or because my dad worked here. Either way, I want to know what they’re doing.
As I flew downstairs I brought up the info the Federation had in their mainframe onto my visor. I began reading about this new “Prototype body armor” they were making. I also brought up the blueprints of the building and used them to find out where I was. My ICM, or Internal Computer Mainframe, made a three-dimensional figure of the building and used it as a map. As I ran down the stairs, the map turned with my every move. I stopped and moved through the next few rooms ahead. Apparently, there was one huge sphere of a room about two doors away. Maybe that’s where the boss-man was. I walked through a door and came to a room that had a security pad next to it. I walked up and saw that the pad needed and eye-registration to get access to the room. I smashed my fist through it. I then punched the center of the door, making a huge dent in it. I punched it three more times, then took a few steps back before sending my foot straight through it.
The room was mostly dark around the sides, but still huge. I saw a chair in front of me and began to approach it.
“So, we finally meet.” I said, walking up to the chair in the room. I couldn’t see who was in it because the chair was backwards.
“Yes…I’ve been wanting to know how you’re armor lets you move so well for some time now.”
“That’s my little secret.” I said, “Besides, I’m not really sure. I’m not up to date with futuristic technology.”
“So…it’s not from this time period then, eh.” At this time I reached the chair and turned it around. There was no one inside of it. “I’ll be sure to rip that armor off of your skin.”
Suddenly, lights flashed on one side of the room. There was a huge suit of armor, a mobile suit if you will, standing there. Inside, was a short stocky man with a long beard. That was the one known as “Boss”.
“Take your best shot old-timer, I’ve got more years on me than you think!”
The mobile suit had a double-bladed sword on it and a huge laser cannon. “Now Zero,” the Boss said, “be prepared, to feel the sheer force of Omega!”
As the battle began, I had my gun digitize into my right hand, then I began to run around the arena. I equipped my formula shoes, and took off like a banshee. I didn’t notice that the cannon had a lock on, and if I hadn’t jumped, I would have taken a direct hit. My scan visor came down, and I scanned the suit. Apparently the energy for the cannon came from a battery pack on it’s back. The double-bladed sword actually had an extremely powerful electrical current flowing through it. That was powered from the bicep of the sword’s arm. The only problem was that the armor was part of a new titanium alloy. It was still much weaker and less mobile then mine, but still, I’d have to freeze it then super heat it to break through.
“PREPARE TO DIE!” the Boss said as he aimed his cannon. I dodged it at the last second as it blasted a gigantic hole in the corner of the ceiling. I looked at it, thinking I could escape. That’s when Calista dropped through. I almost died.
“What are you doing miss!?” I said, running up to her.
“Cut the crap Mike, I know who you are.” She said quietly to me so the Boss didn’t hear. “I came here to help.”
I was going to ask how she found out, but now wasn‘t the time. “Ok, you weaken his armor, I’ll distract him.”
“I’ll distract him.” She said.
“I have an over shield and super fast speeds with this armor. I can take a hit, you can’t.” I pointed out.
“…Fine. Go have your little fun.”
I ran up to the Boss and jumped over him. When he turned around, Calista pulled out her Ice and Fire whips. She cracked him in the cannon’s battery pack with the Ice Whip multiple times, then did the same with the Fire Whip. The boss turned around, and I opened fire on the weakened armor, bursting right through it and sending energy bullets into the battery, short-circuiting his armor’s cannon, and electrocuting him some.
“Ugh…feel the wrath…of my BLADE!” He shouted swinging his blade down at me. I easily jumped over it, but caught his cannon to the back. I flew into the wall as a huge could of dust flowed out of it. He began to walk over, thinking I was dead. That’s when I burst out of the wall with my High Jump shoes on. I flew right into his pod that he was operating Omega in. I began to smash my right fist into the alloy covering. I managed to make a nice crack before he swung his sword, forcing me off. He brought his sword up, but Calista wrapped both her whips around it, shattering it at the top half.
“M-my blade!” He screamed, “How did you manage to do that!”
“Same way I do this!” I shouted as my Long Thrust shoes came on. I dashed forward at such a fast speed that I had to turn early in order to smash my feet into the pod. I shattered it with a single blow, and sent the armor flying across the room into the wall.
“You…you fiends…” she said as the suit managed to get back up, “I’ll have your heads.” The blade became slightly longer and he dashed forward at us. I managed to jump in front of Calista and hold the blade up with my hands. I twisted it and sent him flying, when the scanners in the room turned on. I powered off my suit, so the scanners couldn’t read anything on it. But that men we were open for all attacks now.
“NOW DIE!” He shouted. I smashed my hands onto the ground, the earth wrapping around them as I drew my hands up, and two great fists popped out of the ground as I drove my hands forward. The fists smashed straight into the blade of Omega, lowering it’s power tremendously. “TIME TO FINISH YOU OFF!” the Boss shouted. A laser cannon opened up from the chest plate of Omega, and light particles began to be sucked into it.
“Mike…” Calista said, “I know you don’t want to, but you have to use DarkFire.”
“But…I could kill us all!”
“You have to, otherwise we’ll be dead anyways!”
I thought for a moment…then realized, I had no choice. I whipped my right glove off, and snapped my right hand. The DarkFire seal glowed purple as black flames shot out of my hand and went straight through Omega. It hit the wall and luckily stopped, then the gate to hell opened, a big black ball appeared, halfway though the wall, and began to suck in Omega.
“NO, NO, I WON’T DIE!” he screamed.
“Shut up and take it like a man, there’s no way out!” I said, knowing that there truly was no way out. The spirits of the dead on the other side of the vortex perform the worst tortures, some no one could think of.
The Boss seemed to be growling at us as the underside of Omega was sucking in slowly. “If I’m going…I’M TAKING ONE OF YOU WITH ME!” The arm of Omega shot out and grabbed Calista, then pulled her back. I could have saved her, but her foot hit the barrier of the sphere.
“CALISTA!” I screamed. I went to pull her out, but she pushed me away. “NO, I don’t want you to get sucked in too!”
“But…Calista…” I said, tears welling up in my eyes. Since she was human, her lower body was already sucked in. Omega’s body was almost gone, just the blade remained.
“I’m sorry…” I said, a tear falling from my face.
“YOU DUMBASS! CATCH!” she said, throwing something to me. I caught it, It was a red and gold fish that had sliding pieces and a red string coming from the mouth.
I looked at her, confused, when she said, “It’s my lucky charm…don’t lose it.”
And right before she was gone forever, she did something you rarely saw her do. She smiled.
After she was sucked through, the vortex dissipated, taking my enemy and my friend to the other world, know to most as Hell. In a blind rage, I lifted my hand up, and snapped, focusing all my alchemic power into my snap. The DarkFire shot up the entire building, through all floors. As I walked out of the building, it imploded, collapsing in the middle, leaving a giant hole in the ground from where Zero, had made a stand, and Mike, had lost a friend. As I walked, my left hand sparked as the fish charm hung from the ring on the left side of my pants, forever stuck there in memory.
When I got home, I walk over to the couch and lied down. Roxas was standing to the far wall, leaning on it.
“Calista’s gone…isn’t she…” he said quietly.
“How’d you know?” I said quietly, putting my hood down.
“Rika faded from existence,” he said, “she just…disintegrated in front of us.” I looked at him as he walked into the light, and I saw his eyes sparkling. He had cried recently.
“Let’s get some sleep…there’s nothing we can do now.” I said, turning on my side.
“Yeah.” Roxas said. We didn’t want to sleep, but we didn’t want to talk about it either. “G’night.” he said, walking towards the bedroom.
“Night.” I replied. It was a long day…and it was going to be hard, breaking the news to the Nagakuras.
I looked at my right arm. It gleamed in the light of the moon. I wanted my real arm back, but now…I wanted to get my friend back first.

The cold silence of space only punctuates the feeling of death that emanates from this virtuously lifeless planet.
Only one thing is alive and well here...evil. And it must be destroyed, decimated, exterminated.
But first, it must be found...
