“Don’t worry, Sarah,” I said in a vapid voice. “I won’t pursue someone I could never call mine.”
I picked up the tray of food and walked away from Sarah and her superficial, cheerleader clique. Without looking back, I knew that Sarah was pouting and she was furious.
Heck, I don’t even care what people think of me anymore. I’m tired of Sarah and her friends kept threatening me to stop being around Jason. Hey, I wasn’t trying to steal her boyfriend. I don’t even know the dude.
Serendipitously, we bumped into each other. I knocked into him and all of the books I’m carrying scattered all over the floor. A laugh burst out while I tried to gather everything when I bumped head with someone. It turned out he was laughing and trying to help me.
“I’m sorry,” I mumbled.
“It’s okay,” he said with a laugh. He looks very cute when he smiles. There’s a twinkle in his eyes. “My name’s Jason.”
I was about to say my name, but a voice interrupt. “Jason!” someone called. Oh, great! It’s Sarah.
Jason turned around and I quickly leave. I don’t want to make a scene.
