A young boy named Shadow walks down the streets of Sweet Lane. He had awaken from his sleep a little earlier than usual so he decided to go to the store before heading off for school. Shadow wore long black pants that got wider was they went down. He wore a black shirt with a small white lined pattern on his chest. The shirt had long sleeves which were also black. Shadow was a bright brown color. Shadow's eyes were dark red and his hair was a bit spiky but was short and black. Shadow's also wore small black shoes, which he liked since they helped him get out of sticky situations. Which meant he ran a lot. Shadow was a nice type of guy, he loved to hang out and play around with his friends. He had a girlfriend, her name was Ally. This was his first girlfriend for years. He thought he had the sweet life until one faithful night. He found out she was cheating on him. This threw him into sorrow for a few months. He couldn't eat right, nor could he sleep right. His whole life was in misery. After the months have passed, his friends cheered him up, helping him get back on his feet. He was happy again. And so this is where are story shall begin. This is, the beginning of Sweet heart tales.

We start our story off with Shadow walking down the street heading off to the store before school starts. Shadow was thinking of getting a b3nto for his school lunch.(Bento-Japanese lunch. It is a square box with food in it, having it sections cut off with a small wall.) Shadow thought of the many variations of food he could get for his lunch for school today. Though, since he was normally low on money, he couldn't get anything that expensive. Shadow finally got to the store after a few minutes of day dreaming of what would not come that. Shadow sighs at the thought of it. After sighing, he looks up and notices Sakura, one of his friends that cheered him up during his depression. Sakura was a long black headed girl with a tom-boyish attitude. Her skin was a silky white color. If she ever got into a fight, she could hold her own against almost any body. She normally wore black pants with red in the inside of her pockets instead of a skirt, seeing how she believes that skirts just get in the way. She wore dark red shoes with a black lace in them, and also she wore a black shirt with short sleeves. Her eyes were a red color, they weren't to bright nor were they to dark. She truly was not a person you wouldn't want to call elegant. "Hey Sakura!" Shadow yells to Sakura in a high tone. Sakura hears someone call her name then slowly turns around to see who it was. "Well, well well. If it isn't Shadow. How have you been since the Ally incident?" Sakura's voice was in a cheery mode. She seemed to be having a good time today.

"I am much better thanks to you and everyone else that helped me through my hard times." Shadow nodded a few times before smiling to Sakura. Sakura smiled back then looks around. Shadow noticed Sakura looking around. He was curious so he asked her in a normal everyday tone. "What are you looking for?" Sakura continues to look, but she still replies to Shadow. "A friend, her name is Megami. She was supposed to meet me her so we could buy lunch together. So far, no luck and the first bell will ring soon." Sakura sighs as she finishes with the last word in her sentence, but right after she does, someone taps her shoulder. "Yes?" Sakura ask in a happy mood, but then soon gets irritated from seeing that it was Max. Another person who had also cheered Shadow up. Max skin was dimmed white color. Max had purple hair with purple pants to match. He wore a white shirt and purple shoes as well to go with his whole set. His eyes were blue and he would dye his hair a different color almost every year, almost. Max was a laid back kind of fellow who loves to play tricks on people. His closes friend is Shadow, who helped him in his time of need. He wanted a milkshake and was broke that day. Shadow came along and bought him was. Kind of strange since after that, they became friends.

"Yo, what is up Sakura, Shadow?" Max asked in his usual laid back tone. Shadow laughs some then two fingered waved at Max, using only his index finger and thumb. "Nothing much, Max. Though, I think you just got Sakura depressed." Shadow scratches the side of his head and sweat drops down Max's face. "Oh no! I am not depressed at all. Just a little mad that Megami isn't here yet." Sakura voice was more irritated then ever and it frighted Max and Shadow. "Well, I need to buy my lunch, I will see you at school then Sakura." Shadow was eager to get his lunch and go before Sakura had a fit. So he quickly walked up the cashier. "I will go with you Shadow, I want to get to school early today." Max ran behind Shadow, wanting to get away from Sakura too. Shadow order the normal bento. It had shrimp on one side, white rice on the other and a few rice ball as a desert. "Looks delicious."Shadow says as he was already wanting lunch to come. Shadow looks over at Max who seemed to have bought the same thing. "What? It looked delicious so I decided to buy the same thing." Max's response was rather quick and Shadow could see right though it. "You are low on money aren't you?" "Yeah...." Max and Shadow looks down a bit before both of them starts laughing. "Well we better head out toward school." "Yeah, we should hurry." Max says back toward Shadow. Shadow looks toward Sakura and says, "It was nice talking to you again Sakura, hope to see you at school."

Max and Shadow could tell, Sakura wasn't in a good mood. Sakura just shooed Max and Shadow away, while they watcher her in her depressed state. "Lets just walk away slowly." Max says to Shadow in a whisper. Shadow nods to max then they both slowly turns around and begins walking toward school. After walking a few feet away from the store, a girl running at high speed, speeds passed them. Shadow and Max turns around to see who she was, but she was gone the minute they looked. "That was odd." Max says to Shadow. Shadow nods a few times then both of them sets off for school. After the whole incident at the store, Shadow and Max finally got to school and was at their lockers. Shadow and Max change their shoes then puts a few books up into their locker. After that, they headed off to their homeroom class. Max didn't have the same homeroom as Shadow this year, so they had to go they're different ways. As Shadow headed off to his class, he saw something that he thought he wouldn't have to see for more months to come. He saw Ally, his ex-girlfriend with her boyfriend. As he passed them, he paid no real attention to them, he didn't care anymore about her or her boyfriend. Ally saw Shadow, but silenced herself from saying a word.

Shadow finally got to his class. He opened the sliding doors, walked inside, slowly paced over to his seat then sat down. He really didn't know anyone in his homeroom, so he always sat in the back and talked to no one. Sometime he slept before the class start, just to make time go back quicker, but that was when you was actually on time for once. The bell rings and class was now starting. Shadow's teacher, Ms. Midori came in with her bright colored bag, having Christmasy colors on it. Ms. Midori was a very strict teacher, who was always on everyone's case. Her hair was dark colored green, with a few black streaks in it. Her was long, yet wonderful for her age. Yet, she didn't have the personality to match. Ms. Midori wore a white dress that went just a few inches below her knees. Her eyes were shinny green, and her skin was shinny white. Ms. Midori's voice was sweet, but again it didn't match her personality. "Alright Class, today we are going to start off with a little introduction. We have a new student at our school and I want you all to treat her with the up most respect. Do I make myself clear?" Everybody in the class said yes ma'am then took their seats. "You may now come in and introduce yourself." Ms. Midori said to the person standing outside her door.

The door slowly opened up then a young girl walked in, looking down and carrying her books in both her hands. She wore a dark red skirt with black line through it. She also wore blood red shoes and a semi dark red shirt. Her eyes were red and her hair was a shinny black and long. Her skin a elegant white color. Shadow saw her and wasn't all to surprised that she was cute and the class would go crazy over her. Things like this usually happen, though she seem vulgarly familiar. He wasn't sure where, but he has seen her before. "Ohaiyoo Gozaimasu," (Means, good morning in Japanese.) "My name is Megami, I new to the school and this town. It is nice to meet you all." Megami had a soft, kind voice and because of that the class goes crazy again. Ms. Midori had to slam her ruler down a few times to silence the class. "We will not tolerate ignorance in this class. You, miss Megami may take your seat in the back." Megami nodded then slowly paced to the back of the class. Shadow thought in his head, the back? That is where I am sitting. Hopefully she isn't a type of person who runs off at the mouth. Shadow silence his thoughts as she finally got to the back. Shadow just pretended to pay no real attention to her, trying to keep himself out of trouble. "Alright class. I want you to come up here one by one to introduce yourself to our new student. We will start off with Shadow." Shadow flinched as his name was called first from Ms. Midori's mouth. Shadow stood up slowly then paced himself to the front of the class. He had already thought of something to say, and didn't really want to impress someone he didn't know. That was the rest of the classes job. Shadow finally got to the top of the class. He stood up straight and his voice was normal yet easy to hear." Hello class, I am as you know Shadow. I like a lot of things, but I won't waste this class time by saying them all. If you want to know more about me, just ask and I will be happy to answer your questions."

Shadow bowed then walked to the back, as he did it finally hit him who Megami was. He remembered Sakura talking something about her, but since she was in a bad mood. He really didn't pay much attention. Some friend he was, Shadow thought in his head. Shadow didn't want to speak to Megami, not just yet. He wanted to wait a while, he wanted to try and get a good vibe with her, trying to make sure she was one of those nice girls, not the type that would bite your head off in a split second. "We shall now start our lesson for today." Half the class groaned, as usual, but Megami just took out her stuff and got ready for school. So far so good, Shadow thought. After that, Shadow decided to take his stuff out as well, and so school has finally started.
