Chapter 2
The bell rang and so ends home room slash first block. As usual, Shadow slept through most of it and was damn proud of it too. After his P.E. class he had lunch, which he just couldn't wait for. Shadow packs up his stuff into his small bag then stands up and starts walking out the door. As he does, looks at Megami from the corner of his eye. Megami was now packing up her stuff. She seemed like a nice girl, but it has only been a few minutes so still no conclusions. Shadow left the room, turned left from it then started walking down the hall to his next class. He has only six minutes to get to it so he didn't want to linger around to much. Shadow turns a corner, goes down a few steps then turns right then WAM! Shadow runs right into Keele. Keele was a really pale guy. He was way taller then Shadow, much buffer and a lot meaner too. Keele wore mostly worn out clothes with a few holes in them. Today he wore light blue faded pants with three small holes in them. As for Keele's shirt, it was a T-Shirt, all white. Not a single hole in it, surprisingly. Keele's hair was all black, short and a buzzed like style. Meaning it was flat and even all over. Shadow sighs some then tries to walk around him, but keele moves into the way. Shadow blinks a few times then tries to go around keele again, but his arm moves into the way."Hey, let me b-"Before Shadow could finish his sentence, Shadow flies backwards, hits the ground hard then slides backwards some
."Ouch...."Shadow rubs the back of his head softly before slowly standing up. Shadow walks toward Keele again, looking up at him. Giving him a cold stare. Keele pushes at Shadow, but quickly Shadow dodges under and runs passed him. Keele sees he was fooled so he quickly chases after him. As Shadow runs, he begins to think there is no way to out run him. Keele was buffer and faster then he was. Plus Shadow didn't have the stamina for running so he would tire out soon. Shadow looks back and sees that Keele was close on his tail. Was this the end for Shadow? Just as Shadow thought that, from Shadow's own surprise! Keele has tripped! Whether it was that fate was on his side or Keele had some terrible luck. Shadow got as far as he could away from the tripped Keele. Among the shadows of where keele tripped was a person. Who was it might you ask? Who knows but only itself. The shadowy figure then disappears. Once Shadow was outside, safe. He panted slowly as he began to walk to his P.E. class that was outside for the day. He would probably get a F for today since he was so tired, but he got to live another day! So it was good enough for him. Shadow got to where his class was then stood in his spot. Waiting for the teacher to call roll. Shadow continues to pant then look from side to side, looking for Max who was no where to be found. He was odd for him to miss P.E. "Shadow..."The coach calls out Shadow's name.
"He-here!"Shadow says a bit startled. The coach nods then yells."Max..... Max!"There was silence then Max came running in from the building Shadow came from."I am here coach! Sorry for being late."Max got in line then stood there and waited for instructions. The coach nodded then marked Max down onto his attendance. Shadow sighed in relief that Max was there. Though he was never late to P.E. It was sort of odd. Shadow just cast it off to the side and started P.E. Later on that day, after they got a few minutes of rest from running track. Shadow and Max walks over to the shade to rest. Shadow still felt it was odd for him to be late, no mater how hard he tried not to think about it, it always came back. Shadow then decides to ask him. Shadow ask him in a low tone so no one would hear,"Why were you late to P.E.?" Max looks at him then shrugs some,"I can't tell you, it is a secret."Max laughs some then smiles. It was odd, he was in a usually good mood. But for what? Shadow kept on thinking what it could be, but soon after the couch told them to go take a shower and get dressed for next block. All throughout showering and all throughout him putting on his clothes he thought. Only one conclusion came to mind. Maybe he was the one who saved him from Keele? He did come out the same building as him in a late fashion. So who knew?
The bell for lunch had rang and Shadow was on his way to the spot where him and Max always eat at. On his way there, Shadow noticed Megami in a class room looking for something. Of course he didn't know what it was and since he didn't know her to well he just walked by slowly. Shadow finally reaches the top of the school. He opens the door, goes to the far end then sits down and waits for Max to come. Shadow waited...and waited.....and waited a few minutes longer. No Max came."Ok that is strange. Max is always here for lunch." Shadow got up then looked over the balcony to see if he saw Max coming up the stairs. Still nothing happened and he felt lonely on the roof by himself. Shadow sighed and before he could turn around Sakura and Megami walked through the door, Megami a bit sad. Shadow then turned around after hearing them come in."Oh Hello Sakura and....Megami right?" Megami nods a few times and Sakura sighs some."Well, we came because we also like to sit up here at times. You don't mind do you?" Shadow shakes his head then smiles."Of course not, to tell the truth I was hoping someone came since Max never showed up. I am finding it a little odd."Sakura shrugs some before walking over and sitting down. Megami soon to also do so then Shadow too. Shadow took out his box lunch then Sakura, but not Megami. Sakura then started to eat hers, but Shadow just stopped and looked at Megami."Hey Megami, do you have a lunch?"Megami shook her head slowly."No, I forgot to buy one when I was at the store. No I have nothing to eat."Megami sighs softly before laying down. Shadow blinks a few times then looks at Sakura."Your not going to sure are you." Sakura shakes her head."I don't have much left so it would be useless."Sakura showed him her lunch and not much was left."You didn't even bother to see if she had a lunch?"Shadow ask Sakura. Sakura blinks a few times then shakes her head."Ummm oops."Shadow sighs then hands Megami his lunch."Have some, might not be big like the others, but you need something at least."Megami looked at it before sitting up and taking it. Eating some of it.
Sakura looks at Shadow then pokes his cheek."You still like her don't you?"Sakura whispers to Shadow. Shadow looks at Sakura confused."Still? I haven't seen her before, how can I still like her? And no."Shadow whispers back. Sakura laughs some then pokes his cheek again."You really don't remember her?" Shadow shakes his head."No I don't, who is she?"Sakura thinks, putting her finger to her head."She is a childhood friend."Sakura nods then smiles."She remembers you, but don't think of you the same way anymore. I can see why, you don't even remember her!" Shadow thinks...and thinks...and thinks."I sort of remember that name, but not by a lot. I guess it will come to me later though."Megami hands the lunch back, about half of it gone."Thank you Shadow."She smiles some. Shadow takes it back then slowly starts eating."No problem, anything for a friend."Shadow smiles a bit then hears a door open. As it opens Max starts to walk in, later then ever. And for lunch at that."Hey Max, where have you been?" Max scratches the side of his head as he walks slowly over."I had to help a friend out down stairs. That friend need me to move a few things."Max nods then smiles before sitting down and taking out his lunch, as he does the bell rings."Oh tough luck Max, the bell rang. You will have to eat that later."Shadow laughs some before standing up."Well, school is almost over, lets go a head and get it over with."Shadow nods a few times then smiles. Max sighs some before standing up too. Sakura And Megami picked up there boxes before standing up. After that they all head down stairs before going there different ways.
After heading to their blocks and attending their classes. They, as in Shadow, Megami and Sakura, Max was not there again. Sakura was the first one to talk."Hmmm, he sure is late again. We can't wait for him so we mind as well just start walking."Shadow sighs some then scratches the side of his head."Yeah, he will be ok on his own since his house isn't that far from the school." They nod then starts walking as the setting sun sets, almost night time. Shadow sighs some as he continues to think of why Max was late."Max is acting strange lately, I mean, late for lunch and P.E? That is pretty damn weird if you ask me. He is almost never late for those things."Shadow sighs again then Sakura pats his back then says some."Well, he could be busy today. Like he said, he had to help a friend. I am sure he will be back to his normal self tomorrow."Sakura nods a few times then smiles. Shadow nods back then looks up as they stop at the split in the road."Yeah, maybe you are right. Hopefully you are right. Well then...."Shadow turns toward Sakura."I will see you tomorrow Sakura."Sakura nods a few times then smiles."Alright, see you tomorrow. Megami is walking the same way as you so please walk her home for me." "I am not a baby Sakura, I can walk myself home..." Sakura sighs some." But you two are going the same way so you mind as well just go ahead and walk with him, shessh." Megami sighs some then starts walking. Sakura blinks a few times then sighs again."Shadow, make she gets home safely please."Shadow nods a few times then starts walking toward Megami."Alright Sakura, I will see you tomorrow. Bye-bye!"Shadow waves to her as he catches up with Megami. Sakura sighs some then starts to walk down the road. Her house was pretty close to where she was now.
Shadow finally catches up with Megami before walking beside her. Megami says nothing to him. Shadow looks ahead, not saying anything either. Megami continued to say nothing. Shadow scratches the side of his head as they close in to his house. Kind of mad they didn't say anything. Megami then stops at a house that was next to Shadow's. She turns toward Shadow then bows."I want to thank you for giving me something to eat for lunch today. Also....for walking me home. I would walk the rest of the way with you, but your house could be quite far from here."Shadow blinks a few times then scratches his head again."Ummm well actually."Shadow points at the house right next to hers to the right."That is my house right there. I guess we are neighbors."Shadow laughs a bit. Megami blinks a few times before walking into her house. Not saying anything else. Shadow sighs some then walks toward his. He walks to his door, takes out his key then unlocks the door. He opens the door and before he shuts it he hears from Megami."Thanks again!" As she says that, Shadow smiles some then waves, also saying."Goodnight." Megami nods a few times then mumbles to herself.".....goodnight...."She shuts her door then goes to her room.
