Lucias walked the streets with increasing speed, his shoes loudly smacking the solid concrete, but he always looked as if he was still walking, though at his pace he could overtake a fast jogger. His mind was racing through all of the different scenarios of how he was to tell Lilly, or even if he was to tell Lilly. He believed that if he told her blatantly she would get over excited or laugh at him, either one would be crippling for them both.
It wasn’t long until he finally reached his destination, a small and well-hidden nightclub named The Scarlet Rose. Its patrons where generally clad in black leather and PVC but many of them had a wide vocabulary and a great understanding of the people around them. Lucias was friends with most of them, and the ones he wasn’t a friend with he hadn’t spoke too much.
Lucias entered the building, the interior of which was surrendered with pictures of old vampire movies and detailed art works of a Gothic nature.
It wasn’t long until a young woman sat at a table drinking strong smelling red liquid out of a wine glass beckoned Lucias. Lucias smiled as he walked over to her and she smiled back.
“Evening Charlotte.” Lucias spoke as he sat down next to the woman.
“Hey Lucias.” Charlotte's voice was mildly aggressive but she was smiling, showing she was genuinely happy to see him. She wore a one-piece black PVC suit. The colouring of her face was very similar to Lucian though her face was covered with make up. Her hair was bright red and very long, going all the way down her back and halfway down her legs, stopping just before it hit her knees.
She offered Lucias a drink from her glass, which Lucias refused quickly, saying that he,
“Only drinks it fresh.” With a small smile.
Lucias spoke of many things with Charlotte until he noticed there was but an hour before day break, he shot up from his chair, only to find a small pale hand holding his sleeve.
“Where you going Lucy?” Charlotte's voice was filled with a playfully, childish tone, as she smiled widely, revealing two very sharp canine teeth “Leaving so soon?” she stood up and looked him in the eyes “Why not come with me today?” She smiled again, her red lips parting once more to show that all of her teeth where sharp.
Lucias’s face grew cold and serious.
“Lilly had just finished secondary school yesterday, she will be upset if I do not spend some time with her, maybe some other time.” He turned quickly, picking up his cane and walking swiftly through the clubs door.
As he walked past a vibrant and healthy rose bush he whipped his deathly pale hand out as he walked and picked the brightest and healthiest rose in the bush, which turned black and withered instantly in his grasp.
