As the morning sun filtered through the blinds of Lilly's room, landing gently on her face, Lilly woke up with a smile, knowing that what happened the night before was not a dream, and that she now lived with her dream, a vampire. She quickly changed into clothes more suitable for going outside and then ran happily out of her room.
“Lucias! Lucias!” She was calling happily, acting like a child who was just given a brand new toy, her face positively glowing with happiness as she saw Lucias's door slowly open, with Lucias's slightly red eye looking at her. “Lucias, I don't suppose I could come with you next time you go out to....you know.” She then put her small delicate index finger in front of her neck and pulled it across it quickly, to symbolise dyeing or killing. She smiled in anticipation for Lucias's answer. The answer was more of a statement then an answer. “I do not kill people, I swear....” His voice was quick and defensive. Lilly's face change suddenly to that of an upset toddler, on the verge of crying. Upon seeing this Lucias changed his tone “Fine, I will let you see, but please, do not tell anyone and when it happens do not betray my presence or both of us could be sent to prison.” He then left his room slowly, the door closing quickly and loudly behind him.
Lucias began to speak slowly “Be here at nine PM and I will show you.” He smiled slightly, his mind having doubts about showing her this, he believed she would not be ready to see some one die, as she was still young and impressionable, he didn't want to affect her, but he could not argue with her. Lucias left the house, closing the door slowly and quietly behind him, smiling lovingly at Lilly as he left. Once he was outside he was suddenly hit with a stabbing pain. He winced painfully and said quietly to himself as he walked away swiftly.
“I can't wait that long, I need to feed.” His face became grave and focused as he walked, his shoes clacking against the cobble stone street. He had made up his mind, he needed to feed as soon as he had finished his tasks.
Lilly was a bit disappointed that she could not watch Lucias feed straight away, though she could understand that night is preferable so she walked down the small corridor into the main room, she then slumped down in the dark purple velvet sofa and attempted to find the book of Vampyres from the night before, but to no avail. At that point Lilly's mobile phone rang, it was Tina, one of Lilly's friends from school , calling to see if Lilly would want to meet and talk, an offer which Lilly promptly accepted. Lilly hung up the phone conversation quickly and moved towards the old wooden door, grabbing her coat and putting it on quickly as she went. Once she had closed the door and locked it, making a very slight ting noise as the tumblers sealed the door, she rapidly walked over the cobble stoned street, in the same direction Lucias had been heading moments before.
Lucias was about half way to his destination when he felt a sudden bolt of pain shoot throughout his body. He needed to feed, he looked around quickly to find a suitable victim to feed from. All he could see was a young teen aged girl, about Lilly's age with long black hair and dark brown eyes, stood just outside of an ally, seemingly waiting for someone. Lucias muttered slightly.
“Perfect.” His voice was quiet and snakey, hissing as he spoke. He swiftly made his way into the alley next to the one that the young girl was stood in, moving to the back of the alley and into a larger alley that had an opening into the alley the young lady was stood in. Lucias positioned himself at the end of the alley, about to move in to strike when Lilly appeared in front of the girl, speaking to her as a friend. Lilly had not seen Lucias yet.
Lilly waved as she came into the street and saw Tina.
“Hi!” She shouted happily, as she broke from a walk to a jog towards Tina.
“Hey, glad you showed up.” Tina's voice was slightly shrill and aggravated, although on her average face she was smiling.
“You will never believe this, but Lucias is a vampire!” She couldn't contain her happiness at that fact, and her voice showed it.
“Lilly, no offence, but that is probably the most insane thing you have ever said.”
Tina's voice was mocking and still shrill.
At this point Lilly began to argue feverishly with Tina, not fighting physically but insulting Tina while attempting to convince her it was the truth.
Then Lucias moved in swiftly, while Tina was distracted with Lilly's sudden out burst
Lucias ran from the shadows and grabbed her shoulder, his hand's long and pale fingers clutching tightly onto her shoulder. Once Tina felt Lucias on her shoulder she tried to scream but was instantly put into a trance like state, her eyes going blank as she stared into space. Lucias took this chance to slowly bring his fangs to her throat, he could hear her heart beating slowly and he could see her crimson blood flowing through her veins. He determined the location of the major vein in her neck and quickly punctured the skin just above it with his elongated canines and began to drink her dry. As he was draining the blood from her he was hit with another swift pain, causing him to bite deeper into her skin, forcing a huge torrent of blood to rush out of the wound into his mouth. Once he had finished feeding he dropped Tina's dead corpse on the ground, where it continued to force out large amounts of blood into the ally way. It was only then that Lucias looked and saw that the girl with her was Lilly.
He was shocked, his eyes moved rapidly from confusion as blood dripped down onto the pavement. He went to speak but could not, for there was no way he could calm down Lilly while he looked like this, with blood covering his mouth and slowly falling into the gutter below him.
Lilly stood, at first shocked at what had just occurred, but when she realised it was Lucias she smiled widely. She ran up to Lucias and stood looking up at him, her eyes filled with wonder as she stared at him. She opened her mouth to speak.
“Feeling better now Lucias?” Her face was as kind as her voice which was oddly calm and collected for what had just happened.
Lucias put his head down and answered slowly. “Yes.” His voice was low and filled with sorrow and confusion.
Lucias lifted his face slightly, looking straight at Lilly's face lovingly. He slowly knelt down to Lilly's level, still looking thoughtfully into her eyes as he moved his head closer to her, until he closed his eyes as he kissed her tenderly. Lilly's face at first became bright with shock, but then sank into happiness as she slowly closed her eyes and kissed him back gently.
