Just got back from Paris!! Here's my journey~
First Day (Friday 18th July 200 cool 2:15am - Just out of [location removed] 1 Stop left! Says the man when we got on the coach. I just realised that apart from the two halves of bread I had for breakfast and lunch today (yesterday?), I have not eaten anything else. Worrying? Don't care! Just had a 3-way with Dan and Ace earlier and I gave Ace her birthday pressie which is a Warriorcats profile. She loved it. <3
4:15am - ...Somewhere... 45 minute break! Man, I wish I can get a coffee from Starbucks, but well! Unfortunately not... I found a magazine earlier, Take a Break, I think the name was. Might be able to submit my stories there. I'll need to remember to check out the website when we get home, see if memory serves me right.
9:10am - Dover, England About to boat the ferry into Calais, France now. I wish they would hurry up, I'm hungry. And after this... hopefully a bit more fun. I've been sleeping, ha....
11:00am (ENGLAND TIME) - Calais, France Arrived!!! We're now in France, and I have no idea what time it is here. An auto-update from my mobile phone showed 1:00pm, but logic told me it should be 12:00pm. Ohh, the dilemmas! Our ferry was called Seafrance Berlioz and Mas caught an epic photo of me being all teenage-like (Yonder would've gone on about teen drama and angst by now). We're heading to... the HOTEL! Time for some reading in the meantime.
2:20pm (ENGLAND TIME) - Outskirts of Paris I still don't know what time it is here. Like... sheesh. But we're entering Paris right now, or about to, so I'm buzzing. I'm actually pretty tired. Been sleeping, but I got Within Temptation on my MP3 again now.
2:40pm - Somewhere Just drove beside the World Cup stadium. It's so pretty!! Still looking out for the Eiffel Tower.
2:43pm - Somewhere Just saw it! But from here, it's so small! XD
2:55pm - Somewhere Going down the river Seine now.
9:15pm (FRANCE TIME!!!) - Campanile Hotel Well... we arrived at the hotel around 4:30pm, France time, which was 3:30pm GMT-timezone. So the mystery is solved, my dears! My logic was right, my mobile phone was not. You can never fully trust these electronic devices, they're evil. Aaaaanyway... we had a walk around the hotel area earlier after I slept until 6:30pm (or was it 7:30pm?), and I just had a very nice shower and I've also just turned the air conditioning on. The room is nice. There are two beds, for me and Mas (mom and Alia share the room next door) and there's a table beside me but I'm writing on my bead instead, haha. Mas is taking a shower.
I'm a bit disappointed that no story ideas came to my mind (and I now just put Within Temptation on loud) but... I'm hoping it'll come soon. I had a twisted idea of combining Gameland in as well with my new novel, but that would need intense planning. Anyway, our walk earlier. We saw a lot of sculptures and we also went into a lovely maze. Nipped down to McDonalds just a while ago for a McFlurry. I've not been to McD since Alex's birthday, and I before that, since Malaysia. But well now. I'll try and see if I'm in the mood to read, and then I'll charge my MP3. Big day tomorrow!
Second Day (Saturday 19th July 200 cool 8:50am - Campanile Hotel Goooood morning! Woke up at 6am today and went down for breakfast at 7am. I had a bowl of sliced peaches, two chocolate croissants and two glasses of orange juice. And a piece of cheese. Most I've had for breakfast! Wonder if I can stomach lunch later... Anyway, just waiting for the coach to move and take us to Paris now.
7:15pm - Sacre Coeur Man... I'm so tired! Since the last entry, I've been around Paris and did not really sit down for a rest until just now. We've gone everywhere. The Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame, the Louvre... too many to list and my brain's not working to recall it all as well. The Sacre Coeur is behind me at the moment. I'm sitting on a bench, waiting for 8pm when the coach comes to take us to our little boat ride. Earlier, we went inside the Louvre. I saw Monna Lisa's portrait and Napoleon's apartment, and let me tell you, the apartment is breathtakingly beautiful. I can't begin to describe the richness of everything. It's just amazing, and it's a free entry as well. I want to walk around Paris more, but my legs are dead. So much that we've seen already! I got a keyring to add to my collection. Ahh... the relaxation. Can't wait for the boat ride tonight. I wanna write more, but I don't know what to say. It's just... been brilliant, really. Everything is just so stunning, words CANNOT describe it.
11:55pm - Campanile Hotel Yes, we just arrived back to the hotel! And I mean JUST. I wanna have a shower before I go to sleep, but sis has gone to mom's room for a sec and I'm just waiting for her to get back because I don't want her waiting outside while I'm showering now, do I? So... I'm writing this while I wait. Isn't that nice?
The boat ride along the River Seine was lovely, very lovely indeed. It was an hour long, from 9pm to 10pm and there was an awesome view of the Eiffel Tower as we went along. I had the luck of getting the seat at the side, like yayness!! And I loved it, really. We went below the most romantic bridge in Paris where you need to look up, close your eyes and make a wish. And if you really want the wish to come true, you need to kiss your neighbour whilst down there. I did all but the last part, but I have to admit that it was a romantic moment.
We had a tour around Paris until 11:30pm afterwards, to look at the city during the nighttime. It's like... diamonds and rubies because of the car lights. Absolutely beautiful. The Eiffel was blue as we went along and then it sparkled white and it's just gorgeous. I LOVED it. I think it was just beautiful beyond words, and I got a photo with it as well, which is always great.
Almost slept on the way back to the hotel here. Almost. But didn't. Man, I'm tired, but at least we're going back home tomorrow. It's now midnight, sis isn't back yet so I need to do a little bit more waiting before I can have a shower and sleep. Breakfast at 7am tomorrow, luggage in at 8:45am, and then we're going to spend the morning in Versailles before heading back home, and I highly doubt that we'll make it there before midnight.
Third Day (Sunday 20th July 200 cool 12:20pm - Versailles Well... that was one hectic morning. I got my desired shower last night and we're now finally heading home. I struggled to get up this morning. I joked with my sis that I'm like a little snail. Slow, and when you bother them, I go further into my little shell. I didn't get up until 6:25am and I got ready and such at 6:45am. 10-minute nap, and we had breakfast at 7am. Almost the same as yesterday. Two traditional croissants, a bowl of chilled sliced peaches, and a glass of orange juice. Yes, I ate less than I did yesterday, but I had a sandwich just now. I have to say though, it's amazing how much a piece of peach fruit can wake you up in the early morning.
We got the luggage in at 8:45am [I just put my MP3 on Shuffle for the first time in my life and "The Howling" by Within Temptation just got on, like woop!] and we headed down to Versailles. Our hotel is just behind it, and we got there by 9:30am and even then, the queues were enormous. I queued with mom and my two sisters, but as it reached around 10:10am, we decided to split. Me and Mas went in, mom queues because all under-18 have free entry. And I'm talking about the palace in Versailles here. So we went in. The woman asked for some sort of proof of age and I said that we left our passports behind at the coach (it's at mom though, I'm pretty sure) but she allowed us in regardless. We went to look at the rooms of the supposedly heir to the throne under Louis and then we saw Louis' daughter's rooms. After seeing those, I wish I can be like Adelaide. It was beautiful beyond belief.
As planned, at 10:45, we waited outside the entrance for the King's Chambers for mom and Alia. It was when we gave up that Mas spotted Alia at the other side of the gate, and apparently, the queue's just too long so they gave up. So we went without them. We saw so many rooms, that it was hard to keep track, but we definitely saw the magnificent Hall of Mirrors though that was when the batteries for my camera died for good. Like... shoot. We were rushing, I'll admit, so we never got the full pleasure of the palace, and I don't think we made it to Louis' chambers as well, but I've seen enough to be absolutely and truly satisfied. Honestly, I have.
We rushed because we had to get to the coach at 11:45am. At 11:30, we got out to get our bags, and the lady in charge was just... JEEZ! If I was worried that I behaved like a snail earlier this morning, then wait till you meet her. As soon as we got our bags back, we sprinted out.
LIFE LESSON: If you have a hard time balancing, then sprinting across the courtyard of the palace in Versailles is NOT a good idea.
We made it though. Got into a bit of an argument with mom about the camera, but we made it. And we're now, thankfully, heading home.
2:55pm - Le Bais de Somme Still on our way to Calais, but we just had a 20-minute stop earlier. While mom and sis went to the toilets, I rushed up the bird-watching tower for some lovely photos of the scenery. The weather's been fantastic this weekend. Mind you, I'd be miles happier of my favourite would come down, which is the rain. But I'm not gonna complain. It's nice. Had ice cream as well just now.
5:37pm - Dover Waii... back in England, oh the joys! The exchange in Calais went well. We were the last, obviously, having no British passport and all but it went fairly smoothly. No pointed fingers telling us that we're illegal immigrants or whatever other drama there are when crossing borders. Anyway! Our ferry, surprisingly, was the same as last time, the Berlioz. We got amazing seats overlooking the ocean at the very top floor but still indoors, at a fairly deserted corridor. Mom's now wondering if I'm gonna eat, but nah. Not in the mood. Maybe later. Or, most probably, tomorrow.
12:15am - Home We're home. <3
