yeah so, long story short:
-went to basic
-graduated basic
-went to tech school, Keesler AFB, Biloxi Mississippi
-keesler got a major a** kicking by katrina
-students were evacuated via C-17 to Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX
-national guard (thats me) and reserve students were sent home.
to say the least i've had it pretty rough the last week or so. no sleep, little food- what i did get was MREs (they're nasty, but you get used to them), little water, lots of heat. i've seen some things i didn't need to, heard things i didn't want to know. mostly i did alot of waiting and wondering. it seemed like nobody knew anything, we had no idea how bad things were untill be got to sheppard and watched the news. on keesler we only knew how it was on base and overall, dispite heavy damage it wasn't too bad (yet). by the time i left water was running low...
