A lonely night (prologue)
He was thirsty that lonely night when the moon did not appear and the creatures crept in silence. His eyes had turned crimson red and in desperation he had ventured into the woods. The biggest danger he faced was meeting one of his own kind. The danger was high but the risk of slaughter even higher. If he preyed on a human tonight he would surely die but if he preyed on a substitute for the blood, there was the possiblility he would be alive until daybreak. He stalked silently through the overgrown shrubbery and closed his eyes, letting his sense of smell take control. He could smell a heard of dear near the west of the city but it was too close to publicity. He could smell all sorts of small creatures up above but he knew none of them would quench his thirst, but only make his throat burn up more. Then a scent wafted his way and up his nostrils. He inhaled deeply and that was it, he gagged at the smell even though his system craved it so much. His eyes turned bloodshot and his veins popped out from his head. He grunted as he flung himself off the ground and hurtled towards the prey's location. Saliva flew from his mouth as he darted in and out of the trees. Branches and plants broke in his path as he felt no care as to the damage he may apply on the course of his journey. He clenched his jaw together as he came closer to his target. He opened his eyes preparing to lunge and he knew very well the animal would have no chance of survival. He was ten seconds away from the kill and that was when the animal realised what was happening. It was too stunned to begin to think of an escape route. It's mind did not have the depth to understand what was really coming for it. It only had the chance the make a short whimper before the massacre began. When he was done, he left the torn up carcass on the forest floor and went to the lake to clean off the blood...
