After gaining my composure with the help of Aleks, our large party set off. I looked back and I noticed that we all looked so different but all strove for the same thing, Peace. I mean how could each of the elemental children, a High Summoner, Black Mage, and a Blitzball Player from Zanarkand possibly get along? It was our destiny to meet again. Yuna walked next to me and kept me company while the others walked in silence because of exhaustion. “So Lady Yuna do you know who we are looking for in the Castle of Sky?” She looked deep in thought. “According to the Magus sisters we are looking for the Fayth known as Bellsulion, it translates to mean Powerful Gale. I have no clue who his summoner is but I know he is male.” I was flabbergasted how did the Sisters know so much more than I or the Fayth that traveled with me? “However I do not know how to get to the Sky Castle so that we can find this ancient city and the Fayth. Unfortunately that information was lost long ago before the wars began.” I thought and turned to Aleks, “Hey I thought that the Water Children and the Wind Children were in alliance against the other two elements. How do we get to the city, and what is the Air Child’s name?”
I thought that Aleks wouldn’t answer me he just stopped and began to draw on the ground with water. He finally spoke, “I have to open the way to the City, and the Child’s name is Alagos, and he is filled with a holy rage that I have only seen one other time. But that doesn’t matter step in the pattern with me.” I looked skeptical but I believed my lover. As we all stood there Lulu looked very frightened, “I have seen runes before in Zanarkand and this one I have never seen I don’t know what it will do.” I looked at her, “Lulu the only reason that you are standing here is to find the other Fayth, and you are worried about a marking we could all die in this battle?” Yuna laughed uncontrollably, “Way to reassure her Rael.” I suddenly got a really bad feeling as the Saturn Star glowed fiercely in my hands, as if it was telling me this was not a good idea. “Umm……I think something is wrong in the Sky City. The star won’t stop glowing. Dante what do you see?” I looked to my brother knowing that he had a lot of mental abilities that is what made him so dangerous as a foe. He looked to the ground and looked sad…”I think we should still go. But I don’t think that it will be as glorious as our other runs, I have a feeling that we might be defeated. And Ultima’s Left Hand is waiting on us and has enslaved the city.” Dante looked truly worried, I hadn’t seen him panic so much since before I left Giruvergan. “We have no choice, we have to liberate the city and find the Jupiter child of the Advent. Otherwise how can we expect to get all of the Fayth assembled together, so that we can combat Ultima? I think we should go anyway.” The others looked at me and nodded as the rune that Aleks had drawn transported us miles and miles above the ground straight into the middle of the Floating City.
We opened their eyes and saw that we were in the city of the wind, but where was all the citizens here? The streets were abandoned save for a few stragglers. I then got my answer, several monstrous demons came rushing down the cobblestone roads and surrounded us immediately. Saliva dripped off of their fangs as they held their large battle axes at ready to kill us at any second. I saw Aleks, Redd and Rayne, prepare to cast magik because these demons were only susceptible to magik assaults. But out of nowhere a few elementals appeared and absorbed all the magik that we had prepared to cast on the lesser demons. I whipped around to cast a spell and I blacked out.
I woke up what seemed like several days later in a jail cell. I looked around me the only light was those of the torches hanging on the walls; I could see my whole party in the same cell with me. Aleks was curled up next to me, obviously still asleep. I saw the others automatically just because I knew who I was looking for but there were dozens of others in the other cells. I didn’t recognize any of them at all but I soon noticed that one had platinum hair and she was absolutely flawless, a sure sign of an Advent Child. I walked to the edge of my cell and looked across at her. I decided that she was safe enough to talk to. “Hello? Are you awake?” Silence followed, then she spoke “Of course I am awake, how could anyone sleep with all the demons walking the streets of our beloved city. I was imprisoned for leading a raid on the temple in hopes of stopping Ereous. But we were stopped, and I was thrown down here to die.” I was stunned why was she telling me all of this?
The girl looked no older than 15, her short platinum hair gave away her race, but she turned in the light and I noticed that her eyes were solid white. I assumed and she nodded like she had some abilities that I couldn’t see with my eyes. I looked away, and she appeared next to me. “I am an Advent Child just as you thought and yes I am blind but my mental abilities far surpass anyone else’s.” She finished speaking and Aleks woke up and walked over to where we were sitting and plopped next to me and looked at the girl in amazement. “You are the psychic child Sheba are you not? You led a rebellion in this city against the dark mage, with the air warriors and the lycanthropes.” Sheba sighed longing to be somewhere but here. She reached out and touched my face and we were transported to a place that I had never seen before. We were in a solid white room far far away from the jail where we were. She spoke clearly. “Yes I led the rebellion and we failed. So now we are all imprisoned here, including Alagos he was defeated as well. The lycanthropes were helping so much but they lacked the magical skills necessary to fight the demons. I knew that you would come but you are hindered by your inner mind there is another element stirring within you. The arcane is being held back by your inner light. You must extinguish it to fight with the power necessary to destroy the Zodiac.” It took me a few minutes I finally spoke, “Help me unlock my inner darkness please so that I may destroy Ultima.”
She opened her eyes and they were glowing as I felt something inside of me unlock, and she was saying “Awaken the Darkdreamer of the Advent. May your Arcana and Dream abilities destroy those who challenge the Fayth. With you the Zodiac shall fall and the true Reign of the Advent will begin anew.”
I felt a surge of power coursing through my heart and extending through my entire body. I knew then that I had to destroy this Ereous because he belonged to Ultima. I opened my eyes and we were in the cell again. But I could sense the heartbeats of everyone around me. I stood up and I looked at the bars on our cell doors, held out my hands and the bars melted away as a scourge spell escaped my palms without me saying a word. Rayne looked at me in amazement. “You can cast without speaking anymore? When did you learn to do that?” I looked forward and just kept walking only speaking to Sheba. “Where is the last Lycanthrope, and I have been here for I don’t know how long, and have not seen a Sky Child yet, where the hell is everyone?” Sheba just smiled, Dante took off like a bolt of lightning out of the jail. “Ereous has ordered that everyone be executed except for the children. They are sentenced to die in less than an hour.” I grinned at the challenge to my new found abilities, “I guess I better hurry then.”
We ran through the streets unchallenged by any demons, actually there were none. We got to where the prisoners were held being ready to be executed, and I knew we were toast. A girl with a sword in the shape of a large ring came flying off of a building and killed Rayne and Dante in one fell swoop. They never saw her coming, none of us did, but luckily, Ereous was no where to be seen. She giggled and looked right at me. “Damn all the good toys break too easily.” Then I saw her Ultima standing in a platform in the middle of the square laughing with Mateus, and Zalera, at the madness that the girl had caused. I lost all consciousness, I don’t remember anything after seeing her vile smile, but I was later informed by Sheba what happened next would change the entire course of our journey.
According to Alagos, Redd, and Sheba, the only remaining people in my party, Aleks had betrayed us to Ultima in exchange for the safety of the Lemurians. They also said that a great power had enveloped my body as I lost consciousness, and they could feel the world literally falling apart. The next thing I know I am standing before the old Fayth including Raziel, with only Redd and Sheba standing at my side.
