Freedom
I catch the wind upon my crests,
No bars or cages 'prison me.
The sky is filled with down and fluff
And my soul is filled with glee.
Neither mandate nor measure shall bind me,
By no laws or codes shall I abide.
Upon the fresh and flowing gales
I shall forever ride.
I welcome crisp, refreshing winds
Of the frozen lands and snowy peaks.
Such brisk and sharp invigoration!
This is what my heart seeks.
The salty taste of ocean air
Fills my whole self with mirth.
The sea gulls and the gannets sing
The sweetest songs on earth.
O'er emerald trees cerulean seas
And rolling hills I fly,
And if one should e'er clip my wings
I think that I should die.
