Around three in the morning a truck pulls up to the back entrance to the shelter; the door is opened. Several well-groomed and healthy dogs are dragged into the back of the truck. The doors shut. The truck speeds away. That morning Kat walks to work with her dog, Haku, to see her mother's police car and several others at the shelter.
"Going to work Kat?"
"Yea, why are you here?"
"There was another kidnapping this morning."
"That's the third one this month, right mother." She was avoiding the question. "You better get to work."
Entering the building, Kat is immediately greeted by Kenta.
"Good morning Kat"
"Your cheery as always Kenta, where's the boss?"
"Sifting through papers to see what dogs were stolen, I'd watch it around her today; she's not in the best of moods."
"That's understandable"
Kat and Haku walk to her bosses, Samantha's, office. She makes sure to stop at every kennel and patting each dog to say good morning.
"Hello Sam can I speak to you?" Kat enters the office and Haku lies on the floor.
-Shifting through papers-"huh? Yea, Come on in, what do you need?"
"I wanted to talk to you about the kidnapping something has been bugging me about them."
"Like what?” Kat takes a seat.
"Well all the dogs that have been stolen, besides the recent few, were purebred and none of our mutts are missing. Also,the kidnappers took dogs that were ready for adoption,non of them were new arrivals or injured."Kat continues on, "This tells me that whoever has done this has inside information,thay are one of us."
