Melissa didn’t look to good when I watched her from the banisters unknowing to her and those two children with her…four counting that Aoi girl. She even seemed to be struggling just to stand up. She looked faint. If I had to guess, and I was right, she’d used so much magic power it had exhausted her. She fell to her knees and Mat caught her. “Mat…” She mused. She was hardly conscious. “What happened? What’s wrong with her?” Anastasia asked leaning over Melissa’s fragile body. “I think she’s just exhausted from all the energy she used.” Mat said. No duh twit. “Didn’t even know she was capable of doing stuff like that.” He added. Ana agreed. “She needs to rest and regain her energy.” Mat said. “She doesn’t have a place to stay we’ll take her to my place.” Anastasia said. “I’ll carry her…just lead the way.” Mat told Ana lifting Melissa’s fragile figure into his arms gently.
This struck a nerve with me. I didn’t want him touching her. She was MY angel. I clutched a fist. No matter. I thought. She wouldn’t be in his arms much longer….she would be mine very soon. Sooner then he would think. I saw Melissa open her eyes again, just a bit…hardly noticeable, and she tried to say Mat’s name again, but lost consciousness before she could. As Mat carried her in his arms to Ana’s while she and Aoi followed in the water I sensed he was feeling something. A sense of affection. Affection for….MY MERMAID! No! He couldn’t have her! She was mine! SHE’S MY ANGEL BASTERD! But then I had to make myself remember she would be mine soon enough, and he wouldn’t get in my way.
I watched my angel closely from her guest bedroom, in Anastasia’ home, through a window as she slept. She was very beautiful when she was sleeping. Almost as beautiful a angel as she was awake. I wanted so badly to climb through the window and go to her side. Sleep next to her, and stay by her side until she woke up….in my arms. And though she didn’t know me to an extent she would smile at me. I wanted that fantasy so badly to come true. I wanted to hold that angel in my arms so tenderly so gently right now. But Ana and Mat, with the occasional Aoi, kept a frequent check on Melissa to see if she was alright. My angel did not move to much in her slumber. Was she really that tired and exhausted? Asleep or awake…she was more then pretty. Pretty was practically an insult in her case. She wasn’t pretty…she was radiantly beautiful. She was gorgeous. Every now and again she would move….not much just gesture in a stretching sort of way. At some point during the day Mat walked in to check on her, and placed a small stuffed rabbit in her arms, and pulled the covers over her. He was very irritating. I didn’t want him near her….but I had to keep reminding myself that he wouldn’t be a threat for long. She would be in my arms soon. When Anastasia finally went to bed, with Aoi and Mat downstairs in the living room sleeping, Melissa moved the most she did all day. She turned onto her right side and cuddled the stuffed rabbit close to her.
When morning came I was still at the window. I had fallen asleep during the night. Mat had gone out though Aoi was somewhere else. It was from my understanding that she would continuously run around on her own. Mat wherever he was, not that I even cared, was not around to bother my sleeping angel. I wondered what she was dreaming. She mumbled things in her sleep, but she didn’t say it load enough to hear. I watched her through the morning into the day. Mat came back around noon to help Ana with a few things. Those eels that Ana was ordering around now keeping check on Melissa while those two children where busy. Finally after three days of sleeping my radiant angel woke from her slumber. Ana had come in earlier that morning and opened the Curtin and then left to eat breakfast. The sunlight shining in on her face, Melissa slowly opened her eyes. The bunny still squashed against her, she rubbed the sleep from her chocolate eyes. She slowly sat up and looked around at where she was. She was happy to see that she was comfortable, and covered in pink (her bed was done in pink bed sheets with a pink curtain above it). She quietly stretched. She climbed her way out of the bed and went to look in the mirror. Her hair had become long and her eyes had changed to red suddenly. She looked like a child.
Mat had commented to Melissa when they were leaving the beach the other day where I first saw her that she had a child like appearance. And he was right. She did have a child like appearance. She had the face of a child and the small looking hands of one. Her feet despite her being a six in women/ladies looked smaller without the shoes or socks on. She had the smile and eyes of a child. Her features of a child mostly all appeared in the face. She went downstairs after dressing to find Mat in the living room playing some video game called Super Mario Galaxy. He saved his game when he saw Melissa come in and switched the game off. When he greeted her, finally glad to see her awake, Melissa seemed to give off a lot of warmth and even blushed a little.
I sensed something between Melissa and Mat when they went for a walk around town (Ana was out running arenas with those two slimy lizards with her). A sense of attraction again. Like they were wanting to scoot closer to one another. A gentle breeze blew and Melissa’s Cherry Blossom shampoo scented hair blew with it. The scent filling the air. Mat smelt the shampoo and it made him want to move closer to her. I made a fist again. “So how are you feeling after the other day?” He asked her. “I didn’t think you could do that sort of stuff.” “I feel great, and I didn’t know I could either.” She told him. They walked in silence again for a while but then Melissa’s cell phone rang. “What is it, Anastasia?” She asked answering her phone. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OUT OF BED! NO NOTE! NO NOTHING! EMPTY BED!” She yelled at Melissa. So loud Melissa had to pull the phone away from her ear, and though it wasn’t on speaker Mat could hear her too. I wasn‘t even 100 yards near them and I could hear her. “DO YU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED I’VE BEEN! MAKE ME THINK THAT ONE OF THOSE SAILORS CAME AFTER YOU AGAIN!” “I’m fine, and Mat’s with me.” Melissa told her in a complaining monotone. “Just get back here. It’s getting late. It’s not a good time of day to be out.” She said and hung up.
As her and Mat started back towards Anastasia’s I could feel there affectionate feelings like a magnetic force at it’s strongest. Melissa was begging to slow down to a point that Mat was walking several paces faster then her even at human speed. “Mat?” she asked. Melissa seemed confused with herself. She didn’t know why she had said his name. “What is it?” he asked turning to look at her. Melissa stood there for a minute. She seemed to move closer towards him not realizing it almost, and then her eyes closed, her cheeks hot pink, and then to mine and Mat’s shock there lips meet! As soon as soon as Melissa realized what she had done she pulled away from Mat. They stared at each other blushing. As the wind blew they kept staring at each other. What Melissa had done was completely unexpected, and uncalled for. Melissa moved a foot back, Mat taking notice, and then she ran for it. He chased after her. She was losing her breath fast but she didn’t stop. She ignored Mat’s cries of her name. At his usual speed he could have caught her but that kiss had kind of drained him in a way. Melissa didn’t even care when she tripped, and scrapped her knee. All she wanted was to get back to Anastasia’s place and hide.
As she ran into Ana’s place, out of breath, red in the face from embracement, and from running so much Ana walked forward. “Melissa, are you ok?” She asked. She didn’t answer, she just ran to her room, and laid on her bed quietly. She didn’t understand why she kissed him…especially when she wasn’t very trustive of boys at the moment. She didn’t want to think about it at the moment though, so she got up and dressed for bed though it was only 7 in the evening, and went to sleep. That night after everyone was in bed I quietly and soundlessly went into Melissa’s room through the window. I lingered over her watching her sleeping peacefully. She had locked herself in her room so no one would disturb us. She turned over in the bed and moaned. She had been mumbling in her sleep and even though I was right next to her I couldn’t tell what she was saying. To calm her moaning I ran my hand through her hair. I think at that moment she knew there was someone standing over her. “Help me make the Music of the Night.” I said softly in her ear. She jerked up in the bed, and I blended myself into the shadows. “Who’s there?!” She asked frightened a little. But I sensed she wasn’t’ entirely frightened. I think she knew the touch that I bestowed on her was very gentle, like I meant no harm to her, and I didn’t.. She turned her besides lamp on but I remained in the shadows. She only knew or thought she was in the room by herself.
Using my shadow abilities I peeked into her mind to see what she was thinking as best I could. She was wondering if she had imagined it all or been dreaming? She felt like her soul had vanished from her body when she heard my voice. My…voice. She then disregarded the whole thing as a figment of her imagination and went back to bed, turning the light off as she did. Oh I wish she hadn’t thought it was her imagination. I was right there with her. She just had to believe. I wanted to show myself to her. But….I didn’t want to frighten her with my appearance. My mask…she would want to know and see why I hid the left half of my face covered. Then she would surly shun me, and be afraid of me. I didn’t want that. I wanted her to love me. I wanted her to be the one to look past my appearance and accept me for who I was.
The next morning Melissa woke, with her bunny in her arms again, to the sound of a knock on the front door downstairs. “Oh hey, Mat!” Anastasia said in her annoying enthusiastic voice. Melissa found it that way too. “Hey! Uh…is Melissa here?” He asked. That basted could stay away from my angel. She was mine! “Yeah, but she’s locked herself in her room, and she’s been refusing to come out.” Anastasia told him. “You don’t know what’s wrong with her do you?” Ana asked. “…no.” He answered her. He was smart after all. He didn’t’ want to tell her what happened…for his own reasons…and for the sack of not having me kick his a**. Later that evening Melissa sat in her room watching the Phantom of the Opera (the one with my ultimate forbearer who I greatly resembled in it). Mat was helping Anastasia get some potion items. They had tried to get Melissa to come out and go with them but she refused. She was at the part where the Rhoul character promised Christina he loved her, and that he would free her from the phantom’s grasp. The promise got her thinking as well as the kiss and him and Christina had shared. He had promised that he would need her, and want her with him there beside him. That anywhere she went he wanted to go to. That’s all she asked of him, and all he asked of her. Maybe this was why she couldn’t’ trust a man right now. Because she was afraid that he couldn’t’ do the same for her. Because she was afraid of being rejected for a 9th time. And the kiss. The kiss that meant he truly cared about her. That was her problem, as she claimed, she lived in a fairy tale. She placed her head in between her legs, put her arms around her legs and wept. Was there eve such a things love? Was what she was thinking.
There was angel. But it is rare to find. The way the world is today made it hard to find it though. That is why it was rare. I would help you find it though. With me you would find love. We would be happy. I would show you the way. If you wanted me to…I can save you. I can take you away from here. I would care for you. You didn’t need to worry about anything. I would be there for you. I would comfort you when you were upset. Help you sleep at night. We would marry, and be happy. Maybe even eventually have kids one day if we wanted to. [ (0,0) ok lelouch going a little far I love you but you can stop now] “You wonder and stray.” I told her. Her phantom guardian talking to her. The voice that had asked her to help me make the Music of the Night. “Don’t be frightened. Come find me.” I told her. Yes do not shun me angel. Embrace me. Do not drought me. Trust me. I could help you…save you. Take you somewhere where we could be alone. Just find me and take my hand…I will help you. Take you under my wing and forever care for you. I would answer your questions. Make all your pains go away. She apparently decided. She rose to her feet. “I will find you.” She said. Yes my angel find me, and I would spread my wings and take you to heaven at last. To our artistic domain. Our playground….HOME!
