Prologue
“No! Stop! Release those innocent lives, have mercy!” a voice could be heard in the midst of the flames. The houses that once hold happy families, the lives that share sentimental memories, now are all devoured by the fire that walks across the town. Moans and sufferings fluttering around the place that they once called heaven, but for others, it should burn like hell....
Act one: The Pain of a Mistake
“Minaori! Minaori! Wake up!” a boy’s voice could be heard from the depths of Minaori’s thoughts. The sun shines brightly as it touch her soft and young skin. “B...brother? Did mom want me to go to that place again?” Minaori started to mumble as she jump off her bed and grab her bag ready to go with a frown. “No silly, mom will be away for the week, so now we could spend time together at the park and I’ll draw you under that Cherry tree...” Soujin said as he pulled her bag out of her hand and tossed it aside. Minaori’s face lighten up before she hug him with all joy wishing that every day of her life will always be like this. Soujin took his bike and let Minaori sit behind him. “It’s blooming season and today, my drawing shall capture the most beautiful Cherry blossom above my most beloved person.” Soujin smiles as the wind brush their hair.
“Minaori is my name and I am an extra ordinary person. When I was little, dad found me under a forest tree with a mark shaped like a sword at the back of my neck. Soujin, my elder step-brother, was so happy when he found out that he’s going to have a female sibling. He had always been wanting a sibling his whole life. They were so happy except mom, since I was adopted, she never talk to me nor smile at me. She hates me and always gives me the hardest chores at home. She look at me like I’m some kind of a monster and I am not even human. Dad died years after they adopted me, mom started to torture me while she keep brother away from me preventing us to have contact with each other. When she realizes I have the ability to summon weapons and control it by will power, her attitude towards me worsens. She used me in gambling, sending me to a place where I must fight stronger people to win money every week. I’m used as an item and was tortured every day. I have the ability but I never dared to hurt her since I respect her even I’m just adopted, I had always been week when it comes to emotions and will. Now, Soujin is going to take me to the park, he said he’s going to draw me. Today I don’t have to fight and get hurt but instead he’s going to play with me. Soujin had always been my energy and he always cheers me up whenever I’m down.”
“Wow, it’s beautiful, it looks like your art is leaving, the emotion is realistic.” Minaori praised Soujin as she looks at his art. It shows her sleeping peacefully under the cherry blossoms. “It’s because the girl I’m drawing really do fell asleep.” He replied as he close the sketchpad and took off for a run because he knows what is going to happen next. They laugh as Minaori chase Soujin around the park to get her revenge with her playful brother. It was her happiest day but this will also be her most remarkable day trough out her life. “Minaori I’m going to be the one to cook our meal but I can’t assure you that it will be that good.” Soujin laughs as they walk back to the place where he parks his bike. “Brother, this the happiest day of my life. I hope everyday is like this.” Minaori hugged him from behind. “Me too Minaori, this is my happiest day…”
Soujin opened the door only to see his mother had unexpectedly canceled her trip and had returned home while they’re gone. She’s filled with anger thinking that the two of them took a run together. He quickly closed the door, hopefully she didn’t see him. “Minaori, go on and run I’ll cover up for you!” he said as he push her away but it’s too late, his mom heard the sound of the door a while ago and was now standing behind him. She quickly grabbed Minaori’s arms dragging her along to the kitchen. “You brat, where are you all this time? I raised you when your dad died and now you’re going to repay me by this?” she closed the kitchen door not listening to her son as he explain that everything was his fault and not Minaori’s. Mrs. Kisagi glare at Minaori sliding her hand trough the table as she walk towards the sink. Minaori couldn’t help herself but watch the woman and wait for her punishment. “As I thought, you are a monster and now you drag my son to run away from your responsibilities. Now that you already gave me enough money for me and Soujin to live, I don’t need you anymore, I don’t need you and your monstrous abilities in this house!” she took a knife lying at the counter and walk towards Minaori. Minaori could feel her heart beat racing with her breath as she watch her mom. She couldn’t move even a single muscle as she watches her holding a knife in terror. She couldn’t think of a single thing to do knowing how this scene is going to end. The woman raised the knife aiming for Minaori as she glares at the little girl with her fierce eyes. This scene makes Minaori want to run but her feet won’t move. Seeing her mom right in front of her with that glare made her wish that she would faint right now, but if that knife hit her, she’ll surely faint and die…The room stays silent as if she could see everything stop before the knife slide down the air and aim for her. Mrs. Kisagi finally snapped out the silence as she yelled and aim the knife hoping to hit Minaori’s heart. Minaori closed her eyes as her ears suddenly give of a long beep sound. She opened her eyes and saw two swords floating beside her pointed right to the woman in front of her. This is what stops Mrs. Kisagi from stabbing the young girl. Mrs. Kisagi’s heart jump as she realized what just happened. The situation is now reversed, Minaori’s eyes were covered by her bangs as she stepped forward along with her swords making the woman jerk off and run to the corner of the room. “What? You’re running already? After, your attempt you’ll just run to safety? Mom, in a fair fight you must give each other a chance to move, and since you’re done, it’s my turn to swing the blade. ” Minaori’s voice changes from her soft innocence tune to her fierce tone with a creepy smile that wants to escape from her lips. “Good night, forever…” she said as she let the swords glide through the air as she plan to cut her arms first, she was just about to hit the woman when Soujin managed to open the door using a pin. He runs to his mother hopping that he could stop his dearest sister from making such big mistake. Unfortunately, it was too late. A drip of blood fell on the floor, and then followed by more. Minaori’s eyes widened as she saw the blade strike into the human body. One sword bound deeply at her step-mom’s heart, and the other, was unexpectedly stabbed at her brother’s guts as he fell back and sat beside her mother slowly dying. “No… B…Brother!” her voice filled with terror rejecting the fact that she killed her own brother, her own energy, her joy and happiness… She fell on her knees with all of her personality, her brother is gone, and now, the real her is dying with him. The happy and joyful her...
