Rose: Stopping to Talk

Rose had been awaken by Kyrre when they had landed on the Southern Gaian shore. She finally felt rested, but she wasn't looking forward to running.

However, that didn't seem to matter. Especially since she didn't tell the kitsunes that. She refused, actually. She was supposed to be one of them... somewhat. And whatever they could do, she wanted to prove that she could do.

So they ran. Off the shore and into the swamps and through a rockier area before, hours later, emerging into a thick forest.

"This is our forest." Kyrre explained. He had been expecting to have to slow down or manuever differently to avoid guards just inside the forest's edge, but there were none. Not a good sign.

Rose was just happy to finally get to the place they lived. The trees were tall, sycamores and maples and elms... so many different shapes and sizes. She even saw one that was so covered with tiny purple flowers that she at first thought the leaves were purple.

She had no idea about the worry that Sahm and Kyrre were dealing with at the moment.

They had been running for another three hours straight, when finally, with Rose once again feeling like she was going to run to the end of Gaia before they stopped, the kitsunes pulled off to the side. Until then, they'd been running fairly straight. Now, they seemed less intent on speed, and more on a specific location. Rose followed curiously.

Then, seemingly satisfied, Kyrre and Sahm sat down under a very tall sycamore, and rested.

Glad for the break, Rose plopped down, too.

The noise made both kitsunes look at her sharply. She shrugged.

Idly, unable to fall right asleep, Rose looked at the brown, discarded leaves of the tree overhead. Each one was almost as wide as her shoulders. They were the biggest leaves she had ever seen.

She looked up, then, and saw Kyrre and Sahm watching her intently.

"We need to go over a few things." Sahm said, all too casually. Rose could tell that whatever he was about to say, even with his practiced tongue, was going to be more than casual conversation. Much, much more.
