Again, more with Jericho an Keegan.
The rest of the day was torture. I could not figure out what we were doing. I drew for almost two straight hours with Jericho and a couple other kids in the mess hall. And then we played volleyball. Finally, after literally hours, they got us in a group. “Okay. Tonight you have two options kiddos. You can go canoeing; we’re having a bonfire on the beach with s’mores. Or you can go to Ryan’s cabin. He’s having some card games. And I heard a rumor that he has a Wii. So, you can take your pick. But let one of us know so we know where you’re all going to be.” Marlon said, his deep voice booming. The group buzzed. And after ten minutes, almost everyone decided they were going to the bonfire. Jericho promised that we would be a lot safer if we said we were going to Ryan’s. So that’s what we told Marlon we were doing. We walked over there hand in hand and there were only like, five or six people in there. Mainly people that didn’t talk much. The counselor that was in charge was Melissa. She was okay, she didn’t really care much. We walked in and everyone looked. We went over to Melissa and I let Jericho talk. “Hey. Uh, we told Marlon we were here. So, if he asks, we were here the whole time. Kay?” he asked. “You got it.” She said and smiled. I smiled back, I liked her helpfulness. Jericho led me out the door and I asked again what we were doing. “Mm, you’ll see. Just hold on a second.” He said and kept walking. We kept walking until I saw the entrance to a forest. It was pitch black and I stopped. “What’s wrong?” Jericho asked, stopping with me. “That’s scary as hell Jericho.” I said, falling into his side. “It’s okay Keegan. I’m right here. And our night’s plans are in there.” He said, wrapping his arm around my waist. I inhaled and latched myself onto him as we entered the dark forest. We walked for a few yards and then Jericho stopped. “Wait right there.” He said. “What-“ I started but he was gone. A second later a lantern flickered on. Then another, and then one more. They were positioned in a triangle. There was a battery powered boom box on a small table in the middle on the triangle and Jericho stood at the table smiling. I inhaled sharply and ran to him. Jericho caught me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I felt one of his arms slink back behind him and a slow song began to pour out of the speakers. He let go of me and offered his palm. “May I have this dance?” he asked and I almost cried. “You may.” I said and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his chest and laid my head over his heart. He swayed us around in a small circle and I stayed attached to him. “I’ve never had a summer romance before.” Jericho said and I felt the vibrations in his chest. “Is that all it is?” I whispered, afraid of the answer. “We can make it more.” He said, and that answer was far beyond anything I could’ve come up with. I smiled and looked up at him, reaching my lips to his. He pressed his lips to mine deeply and hugged me close to him. I kept my lips on his, moving them slowly. “This is where I found it.” I heard from a girls voice a few yards back. Jericho ran and flicked off all the lanterns, and then the boom box. Leaving us in utter silence and darkness.
I dont know what should happen next. suggestions?
