He watched her as she smiled
and when tears fell down her face.
He envied at her sense of humor,
never a joke out of place.

She could always brighten up his day
no matter what hell he'd been through.
Anytime something bad happened he's say
"I promise I'm always here for you."

He saw her love another man.
Perfection displayed in him.
He watched perfection break her heart,
he felt her pain she was in.

"Sorry" uttered back and forth.
One person to another.
She didn't realize the meaning behind
"Love you like a brother"

He cared about her more than that.
But he pushed his feelings aside.
The cutest girl in the world to him,
wasn't gonna cry.

He's gonna do all he can
to rebuild a broken heart.
Mending one piece after another,
Reconstructing part by part.

He's not here to be a rebound dude.
She doesn't even like him that way.
He's just fulfilling his promises,
hoping the pain will go away.

Maybe she'll get back to perfection,
But that isn't for sure.
Maybe someday she'll find the reason why
he doesn't "Love her like a brother" anymore.
