Well, just this past Wednesday, I got my braces off! blaugh And as you may not and NEVER will know.... I was born with cleft lip cleft palate. So as part of my condition, I don't have my two lateral incisors. So once my braces came off, they put in a retainer with the teeth that I'm missing attached. So now I have a full top row of teeth! whee

And.... The Moment Happens Like This: biggrin



I waited in their office for a good 30 minutes till I was called back. And for this kind of appointment, I needed my Mom with me. heart So, once they sat me in a pale pink chair, they immediately started taking off my braces. They clipped the wire and bracket along with it. It really didn't hurt but it was a little annoying because it almost felt like my teeth were going to be ripped out too! crying But then, they put in a permanent retainer along the back of my first six front teeth on my bottom row. It really is a nice tongue scratcher.... Not literally because my tongue is all scratched and cut on the tip.... crying NEXT! The tech used a drill-like tool to scrape off all the glue on each teeth. And some of my teeth are sensitive so, that kinda was... Ow! .... gonk After all my teeth were polished and free of the glue, the doctor came over and took a look and put in my retainer. Once it was in, my Mom immediately wanted to see what I looked like.... So I was kinda forced to smile.... crying But my Mom REALLY liked the way I looked! They gave me a mirror to look, but I looked so different that I didn't really like the way I looked. I was also given a night-time retainer, and it hurts so much! But only because it feels so snug. confused So I REALLY hope I didn't bore you but that moment was kinda special to me so please respect it. 4laugh
