So for the past month, (yes, it's already been 4 weeks)(it was Sept. 18 ), I've been meaning to type an entry to my journal about AWA this year.
This was my first time going to AWA, or any other convention, and I had a blast! I seriously wish I could relive that afternoon ten million more times.
My sister, friend, and I all went together. My friend and I were dressed up as Team Rocket- I was Jessie, and she was James. And my sister was Maka from Soul Eater.
I had an interesting time. It wasn't like anything I had done before. But I actually thought it was way more fun than Halloween, because not only are you and almost everyone dressed up, but you're all there for things you love to do. Lots of people took pictures of us, but our costumes were great. I forgot to bring my PokeWalker with me, but that's ok. I did bring my giant Pikachu pillow with me, thanks to my oldest sister's idea. And it did pay off later!
We walked around for about 4 hours, and took pictures and talked to other people. We went to the artist areas, and I saw some cool stuff. I bought a chikorita plushie while I was there, to go with my mudkip plushie. I also say a mudkip hat, which was pretty awesome, and more pokemon plushies. I wish I could've bought more! During the time we were there, we ran into two other people dressed up as James, and it was pretty funny. Then we saw an Officer Jenny, and we got a picture of us being arrested by her. I did embarrass myself twice. Two times, I got nervous and forgot the Team Rocket motto. I just wanted to crawl into a ditch and hide from embarrassment! Next convention, I'll have that motto burned into my brain, haha.
At the Gaia panel, there were a lot more people than I had expected! We got little info sheets that had the code for convention items, and pink giftboxes. DJ Helsing did some raffles with the codes, but my sister, friend, and I didn't win any of them. Then, new features and plotlines were talked about. There's some new games coming out that sound pretty fun. Then there were contests. Some of them being: -longest hair -if you had a picture of your avatar -best Jacob/Edward (that was really funny) I didn't think there would be any contests I could go up for, until he called a contest for biggest plushie. There was no doubt, I had the biggest plushie there! I went up, and made the final winning 3, and I won pink giftboxes and an Inari's Beads. A lot of people cheered for my pikachu! My sister went up for the Best Homemade Prop contest, and she made the final winning 3 for her Soul Scythe, which she 100% made herself, and it was quite awesome. She ended up winning a Gogh Reed, I think.
After the Gaia panel, we walked around for a while and got food to eat. By the time we left the convention, my wig was squeezing my scalp, and my feet were killing me! But, I had one of the best days of my life so far there, and I can't wait to go to more conventions!
