This sucks. It really really sucks. I got RSV from a kid at work and so am under workman's comp leave. Until Sunday. The stupid virus lasts for 2 weeks. I have it severe enough I was nearly blacking out and got a severe sinus infection on top of it - to the point one of my glands has swollen where the doctor is concerned too much more and it could cause my coratid artery to not get enough blood to my brain or infect part of my skull. YET, I am cleared to go back to work. The medication he gave me better work by then. It's a 3 day dose, and he promised it'd stay in my system and work for an additional 10 days. BUT, my stupid work gave me the GENERIC version, which I have to take double of AND have bad side effects [i.e. they said that possible side effects include severe vomiting and diarrhea]. So I'm going to have a really sick stomach for 10 days after I'm done taking my meds. But I have to work anyway.
I've already been sick 6 days...I nearly blacked out twice at work yesterday, and I am just generally having a hard time doing anything except sleeping. I can barely eat. For 6 days I've eaten less than half of my normal food. It's enough to get by on...but not when I have to work 8 hours a day and really bust myself. Days I put in extra effort at work I tend to eat 4 or 5 small meals. ...And then I still bug my Mom to take me somewhere to get a little more to eat before my stomach stops saying it's hungry. stare
So. Now I have to go to work with two severe cases of two separate infections [upper respiratory and sinus], without eating enough to suffice for the energy I need at work, and with a super swollen gland that presses on my artery when I get to working really hard...and pray I don't do two things. Spread RSV -and- black out. stare Oh. And hope the medication doesn't cause the side effects the pharmacist promised me it would. stare
