If you've ever worked in retail, then I am sure you'll understand where I'm coming from with this one.
My place of employment strives to keep our customer service a top priority, while making profits for the company. We greet our customers with a warm, welcoming smile on our faces, with a sense of respect for the people coming in. When you come in through our doors, we want to you to ask us for help; that is what we are there for! Don't be shy! Tell us what you are looking for and we can show you what we have to offer!
However, when we greet you, when you walk in, with our big smiles and perky attitude, please don't ruin it by looking at us like we're aliens and keep walking away, or say something under your breath (and keep walking), or don't even acknowledge we're even greeting you. You are the one who walked into my territory shopping for something or someone in particular (or maybe not), so why not tell me why you have walked in so I can help you out? You obviously walked in for a reason! If you don't want to be sociable at all when we greet you, don't turn around and rate our store poorly because you had a chip on your shoulder and blame us for doing our job -properly. Or, just stay at home because no one like a crabby person walking around huffing and puffing -it tends to rub off onto other people.
sweatdrop Whew! Sorry about that! I just had to get that off my chest.
Have a good one! 4laugh
