If Only You Knew
The moon silhouettes against the sky,
And the night is good as dead.
I can't will my body to take a rest,
From thoughts of you circling my head.
I could never speak aloud the dreams,
That keep me awake at night.
The reasons I have to look away,
When I'm in your divine sight.
My feelings have often betrayed me,
My heart doesn't know when to end.
Even though I know it's positive,
We'll never be more than friends.
I look at a star outside the drapes,
Hoping that your thinking of me too.
Holding on to my blanket for comfort,
When I wish it could be you.
I'm such a fool for letting myself,
Be in love with someone I'll never hold.
We come from two different worlds,
Or at least that's what I've been told.
But for now I'll try to dream,
With you decorating my mind.
Desperately attempting to scold myself,
In to to leaving my love behind.
So the next time I see you with her,
Knowing my heart has finally flew.
I'll look into your eyes and think...
'If Only You Knew.'
