a little brown book
finding the life of Alexander Shaw, a kind of serial story.
As I was putting my coat on, I realized that I still only had one glove and then I remembered what Vlad must have meant by 'my promise' . That I would return. I started to, then suddenly realized that I didn't even know what part of town the house had been in. My heart sank; I wanted to keep my promise; even if it hadn't strictly been one. But as it was; I couldn't.
Then like some sort of angel, sent by a twisted God, Vlad appeared.
“Need a ride?” he smirked, offering me a hand as he leaned out of the carriage.

This time I took his hand.

Edward was inside as well, and he took my hands earnestly as I settled in and the carriage set off.
“I completely forgot that you'd have to work, Xander. I'm so sorry. Forgive me?”
“And here I was worried that you'd be upset I wasn't there when you woke up.” I smiled. “There's nothing in that to forgive, Edward.”
“I'm glad.” almost uncertainly, he laced his fingers through mine, and smiled. “We're going out, would you like to come?”
“I'm here.” I said, surprised. “I didn't have any other plans for the night.” His face lit up with happiness.
“Just remember I need to sleep sometime-” I implored.
