I didn't sleep well, dreaming of the images in the cards, especially the shattered tower. In my dream I wore sorcerer's robes and carried a wand- or was it a staff? A goblet that dangled from my belt, though it was still full of wine, and a coin hung on a chain on my brow. Wind ruffled my hair as I walked. Beside the path stood Henry, in a suit of armor, leaning on a sword. Five pointed stars fastened his cape to his armor, and another was in the cross piece of the sword.
“You should turn around.” He told me, clear blue eyes . “You can't win.”
“A Knight should always face their challengers.” I retorted.
“I'm just a messenger.” he shook his head. He flipped the sword around until he held the blade., and offered it hilt first to me. “Take it.” he said. “I can't give you anything else.” As I took it, the incubus appeared behind him, and folded his wings around them both for a moment, then opened them again- Henry was gone; but the incubus gave me the same strange feeling of peace and companionship.
“You're in my dreams now?” I asked, confused.
“No, I'm just a dream. I said we would never meet again. Not in this lifetime.” His jet black eyes blinked once, and he smiled, taking a step forward, though he didn't step on the road I stood upon. His wings caped around me “You have a goal. Don't let anything distract you from it.” He ran a hand along my face, “What I told you was not a sentence, it was meant to be...” I turned away, and continued down the road; I could hear a smile in his voice. “Freedom.”
