A Life Changing Journey
Chapter 2: Age Complications
After leaving the public town pool, my step-mother picks my step-siblings and I up and I tell her about my new girlfriend. Her first question was her age. I told her she was fifteen years old. My step-mother didn't say much after that and she seemed to act uneasy about the sitaution since I was and eighteen year old dating a fifteen year old. Since I had dated people three years younger than me before, I didn't think there would've been a problem dating someone three years younger, but it was a stretch for me, since I do believe in dating age limits, I'm just not strict on it like my dad and step-mother were.
Once my step-mother told my father about this girl i was dating, he told me how he doesn't really like it. I some how convinced him to give me a chance. My step-mother hated this idea of me dating this girl, as she would keep her distance from it. After a little over a month dating her, I goof up by simply forgetting to tell Yelsha's mom that I had to be home BY nine pm. She left three hours before then and never picked up her phone or came home in time. I ended up calling my father and tried to let me stay longer, but he insisted on getting me. Once he came at around nine, Yelsha's mom happened to come home as well. As my dad drove us home, he told me that I didn't do anything wrong, except the fact that I forgot to tell Yelsha's mom when to take me home.
My dad and step-mother had a talk once I got home. They came down shortly after and told me I had to break up with her because I seem to be irresponsibly dating her. When I talked to Yelsha on the phone and told her the terrible news, we decided to keep dating, but make it a secret. You never tear up a relationship, because then you have an immediate attraction to them. I also wanted to see how this whole thing played out first, anyway.
