I walked into the gym already dressed. I looked around to see who was their. I didn't see April and May anywhere I felt a bit of disappointment and went to sit down. A couple steps forward and "Kayla." a voice called. I turned. I saw April standing at the doorway. I made a big smile. "Hey April!" I hugged her. She looked a little surprised then her face went straight again. "So where's May?" I asked. "Changing. She'll be here soon." "Hello." May appeared at the doorway next to April. "Oh. There you are May." April greeted. Weird thing is, she faced me directly to say that. Hm. Maybe it just takes a little getting used to around these girls. I thought. "You guys go sit down." the couch ordered. We sat down in our spots. The couch blew his whistle and everyone stopped talking. "Okay class, today we are going to play basket ball. I'm going to let you choose your own teams." The kids cheered. "Starting with Joey and Kayla." We got up. "You go first." Joey said kindly. "Okay." I said. "I pick April." April walked over to me. "I pick Justin." Joey said. A kid named Justin Stood up and walked over to Joey. "I pick May." I said. May stood next to April. Joey and I picked the rest of the kids we could pick.
I felt I had to pick April and May on my team. I felt it was a good oportunity to get to know them better. The coach set us up on the court. "Ready? Go." he blew the whistle. We all went after the ball. A girl caught it and sprinted toward a goal. I was fast enough to catch up to her and snatch the ball out of her hand. I sprinted towards the other goal. All the members of the other team surrounded me. Just when I thought the ball was gonna get stolen from me, I saw May. She looked at me with arms open ready to catch. "Catch!" I yelled then flinged the ball at her.
She caught it perfectly. Next thing to happen was the opposite team had her surrounded. She looked around not knowing what to do for a sec while trying to protect the ball. Then she spotted April who wasn't even looking at her. She threw the ball without warning her. The ball shot threw the air like a bullet. It went right past my head so fast a wind of gust hit me. I even heard it whistle. Startled, I quickly turned my head to watch where the ball was going. I heard a loud THUD! The crowd gasped. "What?" I turned my head to see April knocked over from getting hit by the ball. "Oh my God! She got hit in the face!" I kid yelled. We all rushed over. "April? Are you okay!?" Everyone was asking. She casually opened her eyes. first person she saw was me. Her eyes were so squinty I couldn't see here irises
