User name: parazesis Name: Regina “Iceblood” Barbair Gender: Female Age: 21 (main) 17(test) Race: Kybeth Appearance: Regina Barbair 6'1” tall. milky turquoise eyes, sword shaped birthmark just under the base of her neck, long (past small of back) midnight blue hair (on the border of wavy and curly, worn down most of the time) (thick bangs cut to chin length, side parted, styled to flip out and cover almost half her face), pale skin, thin, pointed ears. Beautiful, but in an untouchable way that causes most to brand her as rather unattractive. Most of the time she wears a completely neutral expression on her face. Position: Warlord Birthplace: Mount Egon, capital city of Haersonie Personality: Overtly ruthless, driven to protect her homeland and its people at all costs. At her core she is fiercely loyal and prizes that trait above all others. She knows that she is hated by many and her expectations are set upon that fact. She holds to the law, enforcing it on all under her rule, neither she nor her nobles are above the law and its principals. To those closest to her (socially not emotionally, as no one is truly emotionally close to Regina), and now to the Princes, she is strict, demanding excellence, punishing with labor and rewarding with privilege.
Her favor is not given lightly, nor is her displeasure dispensed without reason. She wears an air of cold indifference, concealing all but the mildest of emotions, slight amusement, vague irritation, minor disappointment, and quiet pleasure. She keeps enough of an emotional barrier around herself that she is generally callous to the emotions of others, she possesses little empathy and less pity.
While she does enjoy combat as sport she is not overly fond of war past the point of it being a tool to defend her country. War is messy, expensive, unpredictable, and altogether not worth the effort if it isn't absolutely necessary. Art of any sort is a luxury and should not be taken for granted, it is meant to be savored and admired. Science is a means by which to gain knowledge that can be used for the good of the country and its people; medicine is the most important, followed by the development of tools, including (though not limited to) weapons and other instruments of war. Above all else she desires the prosperity of Haersonie and its people.
Personality Flaw: Major-Poor personal social skills, lack of empathy, ruthless Minor- Restless more often than not. Special abilities: Shape shifting, though not amazingly talented at the art (she can only remain shifted for about a day and a half at most and has to rest for at least a third of the time she spent in unnatural form before shifting again). Exceptional swordplay and weaponless hand-to-hand combat. Reading "life signatures" which provide her with information about an individual, such as name, race, family, age, basic skills, and current location (where they are positioned in relation to her). Manipulation of life forces, both to heal and hurt. General mind reading which can show her the basic intents and the jist of current thoughts when she touches an unguarded mind.
Ability Flaw: Major- Blind Minor-Unable to sing or make music in any way as she is practically tone-deaf. Cannot perform any sort of kitchen work due to lack of instruction and practice.
Magic: Life energy, mind energy, water, metal Weapons: Depending on the situation Regina will use a rapier, a dirk, or a boot dagger. She is adept at unarmed combat, but the use of a weapon gives her an extra sense of security. History: First and only child of Warlord Paden Barbair and Lady Pandora Barbair. Born with deteriorating eyesight, her natural form went completely blind by age 4, though when shifted into human form she is able to see clearly. She was generally a pleasant child, respectful and amiable, if quiet and reserved. She took well to her studies, though she clearly preferred some subjects to others. She was known to prefer fencing, economics, military strategy, and history to other subjects. She didn't show any particular interest in political studies until she turned 10, after it was made clear to her that she would rule someday.
At age 14 Regina inherited the throne, after her parents were poisoned by a insurgent who had infiltrated the royal court. After taking the throne she quickly became stiff and cold to the world, she knew that she had to fill important duties and that some people might not take her seriously if she failed to exhibit absolute and unwavering strength. A few weeks before her 21st birthday, Regina had a series of premonitions about her death, prompting her to formulate the plan of summoning the Princes. She has until her 23ed birthday to find an heir, as she expects to die the day after she turns 23. On her 21st birthday she welcomed the Princes to the palace to begin their training. This is where we pick up the main line.
Family: One eccentric cousin, Roshan, who's mother was disowned by the royal family when she married a commoner. Roshan and her parents fled the country after they were disowned. Roshan snuck back into the country at age 21. Roshan now owns and runs a tavern in Mount Egon. Regina is unaware of her cousin's return.

Regina has a particular alter-ego that she likes to use when she needs to go somewhere where the Warlord shouldn't be. This is the profile for that Alter-ego.
Name: Raina Baker Gender: Female Age: Same as Regina Race: Human Appearance: shoulder-length strait medium-brown hair, bright blue eyes, fair skinned but not pale, freckles, often wears purple lipstick, always wears white shoes, average. While she is on the plain side of mildly pretty, her facial features do hold some vague resemblance to Regina's, primarily the shape of the eyes. Medium build 5'10”, often wears white and light blue. Never wears jewelry. Position: Regina's most common alter-ego/shifted form Birthplace: n/a Personality: Wholly unassuming, quiet, and bookish. Raina enjoys observing people, this stems from a somewhat academic curiosity about how people really interact with each other (seeing as Regina is only able to interact with certain social circles and they do not act naturally around her.) While she legitimately enjoys reading (both for learning and the simple joy of being able to intake information through vision), she often exhibits nose-in-book mannerisms as a means of avoiding suspicion. Even so, she carries herself with all the grace and dignity of Regina's station as Warlord. Regina really isn't sure why she allows Raina her few distinguishing characteristics (bright blue eyes, purple lipstick, white shoes, and propensity towards white clothing) but she suspects that it stems from curiosity about how unobservant the “normal” person is; if asked about these things, she writes them off as odd little personal vanities. She is much more prone to expressing emotion than Regina (seeing as expressing emotion is relatively safe as Raina), though she is still slow to smile, laugh, or cry; anger is always held closely in check (she doesn't need to attract attention by picking fights). She refuses to tell much about herself and when she does her answers are vague. If she can avoid telling anyone her “last name” then she keeps that information to herself as well. Personality Flaw: Same as Regina Major- '' Minor- '' Special abilities: Same as Regina, sketch artist Ability Flaw: Major- Her magic is weakened some due to being in human form. Minor- Same as Regina Magic: Same as Regina, though in a moderated form due to the human body. Weapons: She does not carry a weapon, but if for some reason she gets involved in a fight she will use either her hands or any object in the area that suits her purposes. History: Concocted story- Her family used to work as servants in a wealthy household, as such she was taught/picked up on some of the mannerisms of the elite. Before she turned 10 her parents had managed to save enough money to buy a small farm in the countryside. They live comfortably but not in luxury. Occasionally Raina comes to Mount Egon on various errands. To anyone who sees her using magic and questions it, her family has some mystic blood and there was a wizard somewhere way back in her family tree. Family: Concocted story- Mother and Father, no siblings. She refuses to give their names as it is “of no consequence”, and therefore “no business of yours.”
