Well now, I didn't think I'd write anything on this boring day, but something turned me to this journal again - something I want to record and never never ever want to forget.
After a long, tiring day at school, I came back bruised and tired - mentally, of course. I just finished a Sociology and Religious Education mock exam and seriously, despite finishing them both with 20-25 minutes to spare, I was tired. Anyway, so I came home and went online at once (don't blame me - I missed the internet) and buzzed away doing the normal things I used to do. Except for one thing which is something I haven't done in months -
I went on fanfiction.net
And no, I didn't check up on Kaiser Scott and his little "friends" and "wars", I actually went back to the Sherlock Holmes fandom for kicks. I wanted to see what was going on there and both fortunately and unfortunately, there were a lot of updates from new authors. It was quite a sight - brought back memories before the Kaiser War (as I now call it) and I must admit, I miss being there. I miss my faithful readers and reviewers and I really want to go back there.
But that's not what this entry is about. It's about a friend of mine, Jan. Before, she told me that she was leaving ff.net - she even deleted her stories and said her goodbyes, so I was both shocked and delighted to see updates on BOTH her stories when I glanced through the fandom. The sight was quite unbelievable - I know I'm exaggerating, but I was soooooo shocked to see her back! I haven't spoken to her for more than a month (because of the internet cut-off) but I really miss her now. I want to ask her on why she changed her mind, etc. I know why she did it - I just want to bug her on it.
This is what she said on her profile:
Quote: Well, I suppose I ought to admit that I'm the world's biggest hypocrite. You didn't know that? Well, I am. That said, I've reposted my stories, and will continue to work on them. Expect updates to be sporadic at best, because my life is complex these days.
Thank you to everyone who reviewed my works the first time 'round. I've kept copies of all reviews, and reading over them was what finally tipped the balance in favour of re-posting. I'd also like to thank my editor for BSW, BaskervilleBeauty, who was more helpful than I ever imagined, and a real pleasure to work with.
If you're interested, my livejournal is public, and you are welcome to come by for a snoop. I occasionally post updates, as well as a number of opinion pieces, and of course, random news about my life.
She's beating herself over it, but I don't care. I'm really delighted to get to read her stories again. I might print it off and read it in school.
