Seeeriously. xD I keep on telling people to lie low with compliments because usually, they make me blush. x3 Not that I don't like compliments, but you know.. it's embarassing. Anyway, seeing that I explained our situation in England in the previous post, it's time for some more fun stuff - for example.. the dinner we had at Uncle Luqman's house yesterday. xP
Uncle Luqman invited all of us who went to Legoland for a dinner yesterday. The food was cooked by his mother who was on a short visit (she's going back to Malaysia soon), so I couldn't exactly say that I didn't want to go. x3 I like her. But well, easily said, I wore last year's traditional clothing - it was coffee-coloured and frankly, wearing that made me look tall. @@ But I like it. xD After logging off from the laptop, I raced downstairs and went into the car without a jacket (forgot it) and off we went to Uncle Luqman's house. Arrived safely, thankfully, and once there, I entered the house only to find myself receiving a rather sweet but embarassing compliment from Uncle Luqman's mother;
"Wah.. this anak dara is so pretty today!" And she went to me and hugged me slightly when I kissed her cheeks. x3 'Anak dara' is just a term people use for young, unmarried teenage girls.. being called an 'Anak dara' would usually mean that they expect you to be a typical Malaysian girl - helping moms cook, cleaning the house, work hard and whatnot. Also means you're single. XD
Anyway, to receive such a compliment like that made me blush furiously, of course, and I gave a small laugh as I uttered my thanks. Released her and I went to the others, grasping their hand and shoulder, and then kissing their cheeks - usual way of greeting. My smile never faded, of course, and Uncle Luqman's mother kept on throwing me more compliments, saying that she liked me because I reminded her of her last daughter's best friend, saying that my dimples made me look cheery.. and she also said I was tall. Really, that made me blush deeper and the others just remarked that I was enjoying the compliments, but I protested and sat down - they just laughed. x3
Auntie Rosie came soon after and I hugged Kak Farhana. Shortly afterwards, we were invited to eat and we filled our plates and I led my sister, Kak Farhana and Aqilah along to the sitting room - Zhariff followed close behind us and my brother joined soon afterwards. Unfortunately, Hidaya and Nabila, both being lazy girls, didn't want to come. (Mental note: butcher Hidaya in school.) We ate and talked randomly and the night progressed well. After about an hour or so, I found myself in the kitchen again and I spotted Husna staring at me. Now, with me being crazy about toddlers, I went along and played with her, but she didn't really want me to carry her at that time - heavens knows why. ;; Instead, she tried to go outside, so I held her hand while I stood beside the door, talking to my sister and to Aqilah - thankfully, Husna didn't really struggle to get out. She just held my hand and didn't go any further. xP
Not long afterwards, she spotted the keys dangling at the lock of the door and she tried to reach it. I raised my eyebrows and picked her up, holding her loosely so she could play - I made sure her head was a few inches below my shoulder and once or twice, she managed to pull the keys out of the lock and I just put them back in so she could play again. Zhariff came soon afterwards and tried to grab her, but she ended up crying and clinging on my neck and I laughed at him, saying that he can't handle kids to save his life. He pouted and played with the other kids beside me, mumbling about a few things - he's an idiot. x3
At one point, I was crouched down with my back against the fridge (the door beside me) and I was still holding Husna's hand. Zhariff sat beside me for no reason whatsoever, just staring into space. Then, without warning, something spilled near our feet and I almost jumped - I would have if not for Husna still holding my hand, but Zhariff jolted up as if he was electrocecuted. xD I was quite shaken myself though. Shivering, I stood and took Husna in my arms, edging away slightly as Zhariff began to clean the mess. Amazingly enough, Husna wasn't affected in any way by the spill. @@ And she was right beside it. xD She didn't even cry, brave girl. She only did when Zhariff tried to pull her away from me - she had her hands stretched out at me, Zhariff holding her by her waist.. it was quite adorable. xP
Soon enough, the women started to talk about diets and whatnot and I rolled my eyes, turning to talk to my sister and Aqilah again. A few asked me to take second helpings from the food, but I declined and got accused that I was on a diet. Like, what the hell?! xD Seriously, I can't remember a time in my life when I was on a diet and they accuse me of being too thin. Annoyed me somewhat, but I just laughed and said that I wasn't on a diet - mom said that I'm always like that.. not eating properly and stuff. @@ False accusations!
Went home with a cheery smile though. It's usual for us to have small gatherings like that and I always enjoyed it. xD I got a few graphics orders, however, so I slept at 5 AM last night. O.o And really, those compliments would be enough to last me for a week at least, but I found out that there were more to come - this time from KID-chan and l_s - my old friends from the DC forum, back when I was called Rinoa Heartily. "Bakerstreet Irregulars" is our nickname now - a group of five. Me, KID, l_s, D^G and Hikari Kazari - D^G was the one who changed my name from "Rinoa Heartily" to "Rino" about two and a half years ago. Anyway, this is what I saw when I visited the old forum:
KID1412: Oh yeah, there's one new teacher in my school now. She's a malay but she came back form UK after working there for a few years... She gives me the feeling of Rino. I was wondering if they are related. Because I think they have some similar physical features too.. luv_shinichi: Wow..I had a classmate before who really looks like Rinoa..really alike.. but don't know where's she now.. KID1412: Then she should be cute. Rinoa is cute!!
Man, I lost count on how many times I stumble into the forum to see them talking about me like that. D< I scolded them both, telling them to lay low with the compliments. xD It was funny, but I hope the BakerStreet Irregulars get together soon. I know I will meet them all one day - or we all hope it would happen because a few months ago, we found out that all five of us are Malaysians - except for me, all are living in Malaysia. @@ I'm youngest but the rest are only about one/two years older than me. I really want to meet most of my online friends. xD It'll be awesome!
