DarkFire Alchemist's log book.
This is the documents of my life. This is how I live, what I learn...and what I'll do to protect the ones I care for.
...log entry date: 10:31:07
It’s Halloween again. Tonight I decided to go for the gold. In a mansion to the north of the werewolf territory, there’s supposedly a relic that can bless anything it touches. Some supernatural hunters are paying me twenty thousand gold for it. Sure, easy right, specially for me…but no.

It all started after I broke in. A mansion loaded with vampires, how smart am I. I walked up the steps carefully, and broke into one of the rooms. A vampire greeted me with bared fangs, and I met that greeting with a wooden katana through his chest. I searched through a door when I heard a woman’s voice say “And you would be?” I whipped around to see someone I never thought I’d run into: my mother.

My mother was the head vampire of the strongest vampire clan in Gaia. She was still beautiful, and the clothing she wore was revealing, tempting even the strongest of hunters. But hell, I’m her son for the love of god!

“Why, if it isn’t Michael, my own flesh and blood.” she laughed out, “To what do I owe this pleasure?”

“Shut up, you’re not my mother, just some blood thirsty b***h.” I growled out, baring my own fangs. She might have been my mother long ago, but she’s killed hundreds of innocent people. She’s no longer my mother.

“Now that’s not true dear, I’m still your mother. We’re both part elf, and part vampire. We’re almost the same.” She took a single step forward when she stopped. She saw a desert eagle in my hand.

“Blessed bullets, wouldn’t try it if I were you.”

She growled slightly. “You might be able to shoot me…but can you shoot her?” She moved out of the doorway and a young girl stepped through. It was Megan.

“M…Megan!?” I blurted out, “What are you-” Then she smiled, her mouth baring the fangs of a vampire. “I see now…both of you are vampires…and I’m getting the feeling I’m not getting out of here alive.”

“Exactly,” Megan said, “you’re only half, and you’re of no use to-”

“Now stop Megan,” my mother said, “he still has use. If he joins us, he’ll live. If not…” I took this moment to catch them off guard. I snapped my left hand and made an explosion in between them, sending them both flying. I ran out the door, but Megan got up and followed me. She was younger and quicker than others, due to her age, but faster than be because she was a full vampire.

She lunged at me when she got close, but I deflected her off my right arm and then slammed her to the ground with my left, stunning her. I put the gun to her head.

“You’ve just been dumped.” I shouted, then took off into the lycanthrope territory.

I lost them easily, but trouble has a way of catching up on me. Lucky me, I got noticed by a werewolf and the damned mutt attracted more of it’s own kind. Now I have a dozen or so lycanthropes raging at my heels. Though I’m more nimble and get around in tight places faster, they’d catch me if they got the chance. I noticed an opening in the forest ahead, at least a hundred or so yards long and wide. I could go around and give the mutts a chance to catch up, or cut right through and risk getting caught.

I bolted across the opening as fast as I could. The sound of lumbering death behind me was lost, and I thought I was going to make it. I was just about to enter the forest when I noticed another shape coming straight for me. I ducked just in time to miss a swipe, and jumped back to miss a downward thrust. They had caught up with me. I looked behind me and saw I was surrounded. I quickly got into the center and turn my right arm into a blade and drew my keyblade at the same time. They appeared to laugh at me while one with a suit of armor walked up to me.

“You’re the half vampire, Mike is it?” he said in perfect English.

I stood normal, letting my blade fall to my side as my arm turned back to normal. “Yeah, what of it?”

The grin on the lycan face was something I hated seeing. “I have an offer.” he said quietly.

“That would be?”

“You see, one of our young female halflings was taken by the Federation not that long ago. We’d like to have her back in our hands.”

“Taken where?”

“A lab on the north side of Barton.”

“And why should a vampire like me help a lycanthrope like you.” I made sure not to piss him off by calling him a mutt or werewolf, since lycanthropes were very sensitive to that.

He laughed a bit. “You see, the humans other races are taking away our hunting ground. We manage, but we are hungry more often. Truthfully, human meat is softer and tastier than animals, and it’d be a shame if some of your companions turned up on our plate.” He said, licking his chops at the end. I turned away and laughed, then whipped back and lifted him into the air with my right arm. He glared at me while the other’s got ready to pounce.

I held him in the air for a few moments before dropping him. “I accept your offer.” I said angrily. Threatening me was one thing…but my friends was quite another. With that I ran off past the rest of the lycans as they all howled at the same time. I hit the button for Fenrir and dashed towards the edge of towns. When I got there my bike was waiting. I jumped on and gunned it down the streets. The lights flickered past me as I went faster to the point where I was moving so fast, the people on the side of the streets were blurry. There was a turn, so I pulled the front end up while in mid turn, lifted the back end into the air, and road along the side of a building for a few moments before jumping off and hitting the streets again. The bike was almost an extension of my own body.

I pulled up in front of the lab slowly. That’s when bullets zinged past me and I gunned around the corner. I made my way back with my desert eagles drawn. I flipped them around so they were backwards while I took the wheel. I approached the main gate and lifted the front of the bike into the air as I smashed through it, jumping off as soon as I was inside. I spun, taking aim at each guard and shooting them down. I landed with my back facing the building and my guns out, the clip empty of bullets, and the front of the building empty of guards.

I turned and burst through the doorway. There was a statue of the old boss, and I promptly kicked it down. Some guards came after me but my keyblade took care of them. The keyblade turned into the Tessaiga at my command, and one Wind Scar wiped out a whole hallway of men. I burst through one of the research doors and came face to face with my worst enemy: my father. He was different, his hair a fading gray, a short beard that was going gray as well, and glasses so he could see better. This couldn’t be my dad, this was an old man…but was he my old man?

“D-dad!?” I shouted out. He turned around and jumped up.

“M-Mike, what are you doing here?” I pulled my keyblade into an attack position.

“Give me what you got old man.” I shouted to him, waiting for his attack.

“What do you mean?” He was shocked and afraid. He knew me, but why didn’t he attack like normal.

“Don’t give me that crap old man, attack already!” I was interrupted by gunfire. “Damnit to hell.” I muttered out, running around the corner. I’d finish him later. Right now I had a girl to save.

I slammed through the tech lab door. Inside was a large pod. On the screen it said “Beam sword prototype: Z-Saber.” I figured I could use it, so I jumped in. My Ray armor activated, and I felt something on the pod on my back. There was a hole with a rod coming out of it. I stepped out and pulled the sword out. It was a bright beam sword that was light blue.

“Time to make sure the Federation prototype is never made again.” I said, swinging the blade at the computers. I slashed right through them like a hot knife through butter. I put the Z-Saber in the pod and powered my suit down. I looked at my belt and saw it hanging from my left side. Now I had another cool weapon, though it most like had less power without my suit on. I pulled it out of it’s holster and pressed a button on the side of it. It glowed a thing green beam this time. I put it away and ran off to the other lab.

I burst into the main research lab and saw a girl floating in a large tube. I diverted my eyes, because since it was a bio research, she wasn’t clothed at the moment. Two scientists were in there along with a guard. I knocked the guard out and threw the scientists into the corner. I tried to smash through the pod but without success. The glass was shatter proof. I drew the Z-Saber and swung once, slicing the pod wide open and spilling out a green liquid. I sliced the rest of the glass off and the girl fell out and began to regain consciousness. I threw my coat to her.

“W-…who are you?” she stuttered out, still dazed from the test.

“Your rescuer,” I said, “put the coat on so I don’t see your nakedness.” She did before looking up and saying “Behind you!” I pulled my right arm behind my head as a wooden chair broke over it. The scientest who swung it backed up slowly as I turned around and snapped my right hand at him. The side of his lab coat burst into flames.

“Next time it’ll be you.” I said towards him as he ripped his coat of and stomped on it. I heard guards coming towards the doorway, and since I had the Philosopher’s Stone in my right wrist, I placed my right hand on the ground, starting a reaction and sending a huge wall of twisted rock and metal into the doorway, blocking it. I did the same to the wall and made a large hole before clicking the button on my watch for Fenrir. I picked the girl up and jumped out, landing on the bike. She sat behind me and wrapped her arms around be when I floored it, going back to the woods.

“So…who are you?” she asked.

“Names Mike, you?”

“Cassie…” I looked back and saw her sniffing. “You’re a vampire…aren’t you…”

“Yep.”

“So why are you helping me?” She was dead serious.

“You’re friends have my only family in their possession. If I don’t bring you back…they’re dead.” She squeezed the life out of me.

“No, don’t take me back to them, please!” I veered the bike to the side of the road, barely missing some people.

“Jesus Christ! Don’t do that when I’m driving!” I said, shaking my head. “Why shouldn’t I bring you back?”

“You don’t understand lycanthropes. If you’re only half, they kill you cause you’re weaker!” she shouted to me.

I looked back at her. She was probably a year younger than me, and very beautiful.

“Fine…I won’t let them kill you.” She breathed a sigh of relief. “But you have to help me keep my friends safe…though it’d involve you killing other lycans.”

She smiled saying “Fine.” I floored it back to the woods.

We pulled into the spot we met them.

I stepped off the bike and hit the button for it to return home. It drove off, and the moment it was gone from view the head of the lycanthropes walked up to me, it’s friends in the shadows of the woods around us.

“Ah, you’ve delivered her as asked, very nice.” he said smiling. He walked a few feet away before stopping and saying “…kill both of them.” There was a click as I aimed one of my desert eagles at him.

He turned around and laughed. “You think your steel bullets will stop me? Go on, shoot if you believe that.” I shot immediately after he said that, putting a bullet right next to his heart. He didn’t laugh.

“Silver bullet soaked in holy water. Do the math you mangy mutt.” Cassie growled at me. “Sorry…I was talking just about him.” The lycan collapsed to the ground howling as he demorphed into his human form and died. The rest came out for us. I transmuted the gun into my right arm, having a blade with a blessed silver edge and began hacking them down while Cassie transformed into a lycan and clawed down her own kind. In a few minutes there was one left, a wound across his arm made him transform back as he coward before me. I turned my arm back to normal and caught my gun in mid air, putting it in it’s holster. I lifted the lycanthrope my his neck.

“Your kind rips my kind’s heads off since they drink your blood. Now I will give you the same feeling after I drain you. I pulled him close and drained the blood from his body quickly, taking only a few moments before I pulled out the Z-Saber and sliced his head off. I began to walk back while Cassie turned to normal.

“Go home.” I said to her.

“I don’t have one.” she said quietly, sounding sad. I felt a deep sadness inside. She was a lot like me, disowned by her races because she was different. I motioned for her to follow. We walked back to the Fenrir and I drove home. I opened the door and let her in.

“Who’s the girl?” Roxas asked.

“Our new roommate.” I replied. He looked at me then tried to go back to sleep.

“I can’t stay with you, you’re a vampire!” she said to me.

“I’m half of that race, just like you’re half lycanthrope,” I stated, “I have no reason to drain you.”

“How…how can you trust me?”

“Call it a hunch…you’re just like I was when I was younger.” We stared into each other’s eyes for a few moments, and I felt a spark inside me. I thought it was love, but dismissed it. I had lost my arm and my sense of love during the accident where I got my curse of DarkFire alchemy. I couldn’t feel love.

“Well…thanks Mike.” Cassie said. She leaved forward and kissed me on the cheek. Sure enough, I felt a spark of love inside me as I blushed. I walked up to the wall and made a doorway, then walked outside the door and made another room with alchemy. The Philosopher’s Stone gave me so much power I could make anything. Soon, I was going for Calista.

I made a floor and a bed from the elements I had. I made a lamp, a desk, and everything else in the first bedroom.

“You’ll sleep in here.” I said to Cassie. She stared at me, stunned by my power before she walked inside. “Sweet dreams.”

“Goodnight.” she said as I shut the door. Could I trust her? I mean, she was a lycanthrope…but sure, why not. Roxas walked to his bedroom as I jumped onto the couch and went back to sleep.

I had a weird feeling in my sleep. It felt like the darkness was trying to take over my body, and I was very restless. I woke up and my right arm creaked. I oiled it and went back to sleep. For some reason it seemed as though my DarkFire seal was glowing…but I was just seeing things.
