DarkFire Alchemist's log book.
This is the documents of my life. This is how I live, what I learn...and what I'll do to protect the ones I care for.
...log entry date: 11:22:07
I was sitting on my couch relaxing. I amused myself by summoning both Roxas’s and my keyblades. I was switching between the Dark Demon Slayer, Tessaiga, Oblivion, and Oathkeeper, over and over and over. It was a boring day. Just then I was hit with an idea. Keyblades can lock and unlock all doors. DarkFire alchemy, when used a certain way, creates a door to that vile abyss. Perhaps I could use the keyblade to create the DarkFire into a gate, and allow transportation in between the worlds. Then I could rush in, grab Calista, and get out alive. Perhaps it could just work…but this was as good of a time as ever. I rushed outside, jumped on the Fenrir, and throttled it into No Man’s land.

On the way I bumped into Cassie again. She was just out walking in the forest, probably just for a stroll. Like me, she was just someone who didn’t know their way, cast aside from all that they were part of.

“What are you doing this far out?” I asked her, pulling up beside her.

“I was just out for the scenery.” she replied, “The forest suits me.”

“I know what you mean,” I said shutting the engine off, “the forest is like a part of you when you’ve been in it so much like I have.” She leaned against Fenrir nodding.

“Why are you out here?” she asked, looking up at me.

“I have some things to take care of.” I said. I remembered that every moment Calista was in danger. As Cassie moved away from the bike I started it again and revved the engine. “Just stay out of trouble.” I said to her right before I took off.

I breached the forest and drove across the dusty land of No Man’s land. I drove past the Gate to Kingdom Hearts, and went for another few miles. I stopped and hit the button for the bike to return back to the garage. As it sped off, I pulled my right glove off and summoned the keyblade in my left hand. I snapped with my right hand, creating a vortex that began to suck everything in. I aimed the keyblade at it.

“CREATE A GATEWAY!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. A bright blue light shot out of the keyblade and hit the vortex. It swirled a bit, and then two large silver arches formed over the vortex, turning it into a Gate to the DarkFire. I stood there for a moment, looking at it, then stepped through the gateway into a world that I had created.

The darkness covered me instantly, but I sucked it into the DarkFire seal on my had. In doing so, I created a paradox, because when it went into my hand, it came back out into the world I was entering, then went back into my hand, and so forth. I used the power in my hand to turn it into a dark purple crystal which fell to the ground in a thud. The ground was purple sand with black rocks coming out of it. There was no sun, just a cave that had dark, jagged walls with crystals of darkness growing out of them. Everything I had sucked inside the DarkFire was inside this world. A few hundred yards away, was the Federation building Calista was in. It was slanted on the side, with a big concrete chunk coming out of the sand, meaning the basement was still intact. I figured she’d still be in there, and carefully, I began to make my way towards the complex.

I hugged the wall, just incase anything was walking about. There were a few shadows that seemed to move every now and then, but I was still not about to risk it. The doorway back was still far away, and I probably wouldn’t make a run back to it. As I got close to the complex, I found that part of it was corrupted with darkness, and began to climb up the black vines that clung to the side. Pulling my hood up, I blended in with the building and snuck in through a window. Now I just had to get to the basement.

I walked down some stairs silently. I heard movement, and jumped up into one of the ceiling vents and closed it behind me. I peered downward. It was that hunter that had come after Megan and I. He was partially corrupt, and staggered around up the stairs. He seemed almost zombie like. I began to crawl through the ventilation shaft. There was a drop ahead, so I placed my hands against the sides and slid down slowly. When I got near the end, I used alchemy to create a nice turn to where I slid into the lower shaft upside-down. I turned right side up and crawled through till I fell through the shaft onto the floor below. Figuring the hunter wasn’t too far behind that sound I made, I bolted down the stairs as quietly and quickly as possible.

I slid down one of the stairwells and ran into something I thought wouldn’t happen: ahead of me, covering the entire floor, was a room full of corrupted Heartless. I must have sucked them in and now, they were corrupt. I took my keyblade out, and although there was no sound, they all turned towards me, looking at the keyblade. I hacked one down, and it fell before the corruption that was on it rose, almost like part of a skeleton. I swung at it, and sliced it in half, but it molded together and came back up. I figured I couldn’t take them all, so I threw myself right through their ranks and landed before an open elevator. I used alchemy to close the door right when one lunged at me. The claws left and imprint through the door.

There was no power, so I was stuck. I then noticed that there was a hole in the top for emergency escapes, and I jumped through it. There was a ladder, and I slid down it, hoping to hit the basement sooner or later. Instead, the ladder was broken at one part, and I wound up falling down the shaft. I went to grab the ladder again, and my right hand smashed though the bars. I pulled it back, tore my glove up, and grabbed onto the side. Sparks flew off, but I began to slow down and finally smashed against the ladder when I stopped abruptly, five feet away from falling to my death.

I climbed up the remain part to the next door, and jumped up to it, grabbing onto one of the steel beams to keep from falling back down the shaft. I placed my right hand against the door and opened it with alchemy, then proceeded down to the basement floors. As I got further down, the place grew darker and darker with corruption. The only light was generated by the purple crystals. I got to the room where I took on the Boss, and also where I lost Calista. The door was sealed by the darkness, and to open it, I placed my hand against the door, and the darkness shattered like glass, evaporating on the floor. I opened the door and walked in to find a disturbing sight.

The Boss was still in the Omega suit, his face frozen in horror. The suit hung from the ceiling in dark matter, and it was highly corrupted. The pod was completely black, and most of the legs were also corrupt. They were very symmetric, so I figured that the darkness was starting to take over the entire suit. On the wall I saw Calista, covered completely in darkness. I started to walk over when I heard the gears inside Omega starting to move. I rushed over with my hand forward, touched the darkness, and absorbed it into my hand, boosting the power I had over the dark.

The moment Calista fell out of the darkness, Omega dropped to the ground. I set Calista down and looked over at the machine. It looked at me, then burst through the ceiling and out of the building. I grabbed Calista and grappled my way up the hole Omega made. I started to run outside of the dark world when Omega was in hot pursuit. I dodged it as it flew by, and as it started to come back around, I stuck my right hand out and blasted dark energy at it. It had no effect. I dodged it and it landed in front of the gate and shot a laser at me. I absorbed it into the back of my hand, and shot it right back at it. All I did was add fuel to the fire.

Just then the DarkFire seal flashed white. I whipped my hand at Omega, and a bright beam shot at it, a beam of pure light. I went right through Omega and took out the corruption, and Omega just vanished. I ran through the gateway, reentering into Gaia. Was it a dream, did that just happen? I just entered a world of pure darkness, and used the power of light to get out? I waved my hand at the gate and it disappeared. Calista began to awake.

“Huh…what?” was all she could say.

“Heh, welcome back Calista.” I said smiling. Her eyes flashed open. She jumped up and smacked me on the back of the head.

“YOU KILLED ME!” she screamed in my ear.

“Yeah, but I got you back didn’t I!” I shouted back. She smacked me again.

“If I would have known it would be like that I would have left you there for dead!” she boomed back. It was pointless in arguing. I took her charm off my belt and handed it to her.

“Here, your luck charm.” I said, smacking it into her hand. She looked at it, confused. Maybe she was happy. She looked at me trying to read her, and kicked me a few feet away. “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!”

“Don’t you know it’s not polite to stare at a girl moron!”

“I wasn’t staring at a girl.” I muttered under my breath.

“What was that?”

“N-nothing Calista. Let’s go home, the Nagakura’s have been worried sick.” I said as she started walking away. I went to follow her when I bounced off of something. I hit the ground and rubbed my face, when I noticed the that there was some barrier separating us. I looked behind me to see everything turning black, the outlines of everything turning white, including myself.

“Mike!” Calista shouted at me. I tried to smash the barrier, but alas, my efforts were futile. Cassie was bolting towards us as I collapsed to my knees. She reached the barrier and began shouting to me. I looked at my right hand, the outline of it so white and sharp, it was beautiful. Hauntingly beautiful.

Roxas had teleported right in front of the barrier, both the Oathkeeper and the Oblivion keyblades in his hands. He tried to smash through it, but alas, he failed. That’s when his body turned colors as well, almost as if he were inside the barrier. “Roxas, stop, back away!” I shouted to him.

“Mike, I’m part of you. We’ll go together if that’s the case!” He shouted, throwing all of his strength into one last blow at the barrier. The moment the keyblades made contact, he appeared on the other side.

I looked at the left side of my body and saw it disappearing towards the gate, which was the only thing with color. The outside had turned gold, as the inside colors were black and white. Small little black chunks that had white outlines were chipped off like old paint, and flew into the gate. The same thing was happening with Roxas. We grabbed each others hands, just incase we got separated. The lower half of my body was gone. I looked at my friends and shouted “Tell the Nagakuras that I’ll be back soon. Keep them safe Calista. And Cassie…take care of yourself.” and right at that moment, a tear fell from my eyes and hit the ground as the rest of my body broke apart and flew into the gate.

I felt something weird, the feeling was back in my right arm, and everything was so bright. It suddenly went dark, and I lot consciousness. Suddenly, I was wide awake in the world where I had unlocked the gate back home, like in Edward and Inuyasha’s worlds. There was a huge crown, the Kingdom Hearts’ crown, floating in the air, blending in with all of the background colors. It was just part of the world, but something was off about the way it stuck out. Roxas walked up next to me.

“Where the hell do you think we are?” he asked quietly.

“How should I know,” I said throwing my arms behind my head, “I’m just as lost as-” I froze. I felt something…in my right arm. I threw my right sleeve up, and saw flesh and bone. I danced around and lifted Roxas into the air, screaming “MY ARM’S BACK, MY ARM’S BACK!” over and over. I looked back at it and pinched it to see if it was real. Sure enough, it was. The DarkFire seal was tattooed in black to the back of my hand. I figured the Philosopher’s stone was now part of me too.

“Mike…that’s not all.” Roxas said. I looked at him confused, and he rubbed his hands along the side of his head. I did the same, and I felt ears…human ears. I was now a full blooded human, but still felt like I had all my elven traits too. Again, I rejoiced. I then felt inside my mouth for vampire fangs.

None.

Again, I rejoiced, till Roxas smacked me to cool me down.

“So how do you suppose we get out of here? He asked me.

“I’m not sure. But…I think I have an idea.” I said, my keyblade back in my hands. I felt something wrong with it, and lifted it up in front of me. It was suddenly covered in a dark aura, and flashed white. It was a giant black key, the key chain that was on my old keyblade still dangled from the end.

“What the hell is that kind of keyblade?” Roxas asked. I pondered on a name.

“I think I’ll call it…the Dark Kingdom Key.”

“Original, eh?” he said.

“Yeah.”

We laughed. Just then the crown flashed. We were bathed with light, and then suddenly, the colors moved around and swirled, and before we knew it, we were in some sort of world.

There was a tall castle behind us. Figuring it would be alright to just barge in like usual, we did. We walked up a long spiral staircase and passed through some weird rooms before we reached a hallway. We looked outside the windows to see that we were on a floating island, with oblivion below and all around us. There was a train track that seemed to lead nowhere outside, but no train. We continued into a room that had a desk, and a huge book on it.

“Can I help you.” A deep voice called from behind us. We flipped around, and saw that no one was there. We looked at each other, and just shrugged it off. I went to go towards the desk when I saw a man with a tall blue pointed hat and a long gray beard was just a few feet in front of us. We both screamed.

“Now now, there’s no need for that. I am Yen Sid, master magician.” he said calmly. His voice was very deep, intimidating, yet calming at the same time. “Now, please tell me, who are you?”

“Mike.”

“Roxas.”

“Ah, so I see, and, why are you here?” he asked, placing his hands together.

“Well, I’m not sure.” I said, looking at Roxas. “My keyblade just seemed to react and brought-”

“Did you say “keyblade”?” Yen Sid interrupted, standing up quickly.

“Y-yeah,” I hesitated, “I did.” My keyblade appeared in my hand, and I showed it to him. He snatched it and began to examine it. “Very interesting, it appears there are more worlds to Kingdom Hearts than first thought.”

“So…we’re in Kingdom Hearts.” I asked. I had read about it in my father’s old journals. One wielder was named Sora and Riku, and there was another one who was only referred to as “the king”.

“Yes, you are in Kingdom Hearts. What world are you from?” he asked.

“It’s called Gaia, but I was able to travel to different worlds in my world.”

“That’s preposterous,” Yen Sid laughed, “you cannot travel to different worlds from another world. It defies all odds.”

“But what if our world was another world like Kingdom Hearts, another kingdom.” Roxas said, stepping forward. Yen Sid paused.

“Yes…that would explain it.”

“Explain what?” I asked.

“The Heartless. They’ve been pouring out of nowhere, and attacking all of the worlds here. Some of our young heroes of this world have been fighting them off, including our king.”

“King? Could we meet him?”

“And why would you want to do that?”

“He might be able to help us back to our world, and we might be able to help with the Heartless problem.”

Yen Sid pondered, in deep thought for a few moments. I called the keyblade back to my hand from his desk and examined it. The key shape of it was very cool looking, although I missed my old Dark Demon Slayer version.

“Alright, you can-” Just then I felt the presence of the Heartless. I whipped around to see three Shadows coming at us. I took one out immediately, but got hit by a Neo Shadow. Roxas was taken down because he didn’t draw his keyblades fast enough. We here hit off guard and sucked into darkness. Yen Sid had banished the Heartless right as we disappeared into a black hole they had made. I grabbed Roxas’s sleeve before we were completely gone, and we fell into nothingness. I passed out soon after.

I woke up on the ground. I looked around and saw that the sun was setting. The world I was in now was quite beautiful. I looked behind me and saw a train station.

“Who’s that kid?” I heard some girl ask.

“I dunno, maybe he’s new here.” a boy replied.

There was another boy’s voice. “Let’s find out. Hey! Hey kid!” I turned around, thinking they were talking to me. Sure enough, they were. I jumped up and walked over to them.

“Hi, name’s Mike.” I said.

“I’m Hayner.” The tall blonde haired boy said.

“Pence.” The shorter one with black hair tuned in.

“And I’m Olette.” the girl said, putting her hand out. I shook it.

“Are you new here or something kid?” Hayner said.

“Yeah, I’m from a different world.”

“Heh, another one.” Pence said.

“Well, on behalf of the people here, welcome to Twilight Town.” Olette said smiling.

“Thanks.”

“You need a place to stay?” Hayner said to me.

“Yeah, I think so.” I said scratching the back of my head. That’s when it hit me: Roxas was gone. “Uh, have you guys seen anyone else besides me?” I asked anxiously.

“No,” Hayner said, “you’re the only one. Why?”

“I lost a friend on my way here.”

“Don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll turn up.” Pence said. I figured he was right and followed them. There was a nice place in an alley.

“You can sleep here.” Pence said. I plopped down on the couch and thought of home. I wondered if everyone else was doing good. They asked some questions about me and my world, I answered them all, and then drifted off, thinking of Roxas and everything that unfolded today. I heard Olette talk about leaving me be. They said goodbye and left, and soon after, I was asleep in a whole different world. I could feel Roxas inside, feel that he was somewhere else, but still alright.
