mm. . . my head hurts. . . what happened?
Lacey opened her eyes. Everywhere she looked, it was dark, except for a few beams of light here and there. Lacey shivered. When she rubbed her arm, something wet and slippery coated her hand. Blood. Lacey could barely breathe. Everything came back to her. She finally realized where she was. She was burried in the rubble of her house.
". . .cey! Hey! Lacey, where are you?" Someone was calling her name. The voice didn't sound familiar at all. But she knew if she didn't say something, she would be left to die.
"Help! Please, Help me! I'm down here!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
Suddenly, hands where prying at the ash and wood and brick plies. Things were being thrown off the top of the pile. A rope was thrown down to her.
Lacey tried to reach for it, and was succesful in grabbing. As the rope started to lift her up, she cried out in pain and let go. He leg was stuck under all the remains.
"Lacey! What happened? You need to get outta there! What's holding you up?" the unknown voice called out to her.
"Please, help me! I'm stuck!" She shouted frantically.
"Try again! You're almost out."
She reached for the rope, and was pulled out into the sunshine.
