some of my coworkers kind of really sorta suck balls...
lazy D only works like 9 hours a week. he's been with the company for years so i guess he's just slumped into complacency or something. one night we asked him to do one task which was to pretty much just straighten one isle. after that he was free to GTFO, no sense in paying him to stand around.... he did about 1/4 of what we asked and took off. he was there maybe 25 minutes of his shift. why even bother? seriously, just quit and open up the position for someone who wants it. you'd think someone with such seniority would set better examples... rolleyes
princess complains a lot whined her way into getting almost all the hours for next week. the department's hours got cut like hell because of people doing a lazy a** job and losing the company money. my hours went from 30 to 17. i wouldn't care so damn much if she actually did a good job. she never shuts up, everything is "OMG EWWW" and she dolls herself up like she's going out for dinner (we work at a pet store, it's messy as ********). her idea of helping customers is bringing them to another coworker and walking away.
the girl who talks about leaving all the time and ignores company policy has gotten a little bit better... only after i left instructional posters everywhere. gonk now some of my coworkers have been thinking of me as a stuck up b***h. i hate having to leave notes that talk to them like babies but some of them are working like babies. this job is not easy, it's not about playing with animals all day.
K is a pretty helpful person and is knowledgeable about the animals and products we sell, but she's slow and very talkative. it takes her 2 hours to do things that should take only take a couple minutes. it's mind boggling how slow she is! it's like you enter an alternate universe when working with her... everything is slow motion except her talking. she talks really fast and never lets you get a word in.
i'm stuck in a horrible position right now... i'm being made into a lead but it's not official. sooooo management expects me to delegate tasks and tell people what to do while my coworkers all see it as "who the ******** do you think you are?!" and ignore me.
i think the major problem here is that most of them are new and don't know what they've gotten themselves into. lets just say i've been working there since july and i'm not fully trained. our job in pet care is "to be the expert" we need to really know what we're talking about so we can help people take care of their pets and/or choose the right pet. the beginner training is kind of easy (if you've had pets before) but it's fast. you're expected to pick up tasks really fast and remember a lot. i was pretty overwhelmed when i started and i was almost certain i'd be fired because i could never remember every little freaking thing that needed to be done.
