Sam was a sweet girl with many friends. She did well in school and was nice to her siblings (most of the time) She now hurried down the dark street heading for her apartment. She had been at a sleepover ather friend Paige's house when she had begun to feel sick. Now she was walking home alone at 11:30. She considered calling her parents and asking them to come pick her but decided not to, they would most likely be mad at her. All of her friends were still at the party so she didn't expect to get any help from them.
As Sam walked she let her mind wander. She was picturing what she hoped her 17th birthday party would be like when she heard a noise behind her. Sam turned and saw a man walking about 30 yards behind her. She turned back around and began walking faster. A few minutes later Sam looked over her shoulder but the man was gone. She let out a sigh of relief. "I'm just getting paranoid" She told herself.
Sam began digging through her backpack. She was very cold and needed her jacket. It wasn't there. "I must have left it at the party" She whispered to herself "I'll just call them and ask if I can pick it up tomorrow." She reached back into her backpack to find that her cellphone was gone too. Well it didn't matter now, it would only be another 15 minutes before she was back at home. As she put her backpack back on her back she heard a muffled cough behind her. She spun around to see that the man from before was only a few feet behind her. Sam turned back around and begin to run. The stranger quickly caught up with her, grabbing her wrists and holding them behind her back.
He shifted both of her wrists to one of his big hands placing the other one over her mouth. He began leading her down a dark alley as she searched for someone to help her. She tried to wiggle free but he was to strong. "Don't make this hard on yourself dear" The man hissed in her ear. "You can't win."
