Kira hated moving, but here she was again unpacking all her belongings. She began to put everything away. She was absentmindedly opening drawers and stuffing clothes in. She was thinking about her new school. Would it be big? Would she get lost? Would she make any friends? The last one was more important to her parents then to her. They were worried about Kira. She was quiet and was alone most of the time. But the truth was that she was completely content spending time by herself. She finished unpacking and decided to go to bed without dinner.
Kira woke up and quickly got ready for school. It irratated her that she would have to go to another new school in the middle of her sophmore year. She went downstairs to see if her mom would drive her to school. "I'm sorry Kira, I can't drive you today" her mom said "I have way too much unpacking to do." Kira sighed. "Its fine, I guess I'll just walk then." She turned and walked out the front door. About halfway to school her phone vibrated. She had a text message from her friend Lauren back in Massachusetts.
How is California so far? Kira smiled and texted lauren back
horrible so far, I'm walking to school. She put her phone in her pocket and concentrated on not getting lost.
Kira stopped in front of the large school building and looked for the office. She was told to go there before going to any of her classes. When she couldn't find it she began wandering around the school trying to find it. "thank goodness I got here early" She muttered to herself. She turned around to go back to the front of the school but instead walked right into someone. She bent to pick up her notebooks. "Sorry" she muttered without looking up.
