Chapter 1
"For Christs sakes, it's 11:00pm. I am out here looking for human flesh to feast on. But, of course, there are none. Animals are good for when I am craving something tangy, but right now I want sweet. Like human blood" He had said out loud.
    s**t I shouldn't be talking out loud. Someone could be out here, and I could've scared them away. He thought to himself.
    This guy, right here, with the shoulder length, raven black hair, his pale complexion, and his amazing, piercing black eyes. He's a vampire. You couldn't have guessed could you? Of Course.
    Anyways, his name is Kai. No last name. Just plain Kai. 16 years old. Hungry, very very hungry. He's also looking for the perfect bride to sink his teeth into, literally.
    As he was walking around, he heard footsteps. It had startled his concentration. "Who's there?" he yelled out into the darkness.
    No answer. "Damn animals" he muttered to himself.
    He kept walking around. Hunting for someone. He was being as quiet as he could. Searching every single inch of the woods just to find some sort of prey. Alas, he found someone. A beautiful someone. This girl with beautiful skin,beautiful body, beautiful, black hair, just plain beautiful to him. She looked about his age. 16. He stepped on a crunchy leaf. She looked up. "s**t." he said a little too loudly.
    She dropped the flower she was holding and looked around. He smiled and went to walk over to her. "Hey, you, girl, what are you doing out here so late?" He asked.
    Kai must have startled her. She dropped her bag and took off. He caught up to her no problem and grabbed her shoulder. She turned around and looked up to him with her big, icy blue eyes.
    "You...you're..."She couldn't talk.
    "I'm what?" He asked.
    "You just look amazing. Makes me speechless" She said.
    He just looked at her. "You dropped this.  I'm sorry if i scared you. I didn't mean too. All I wanted to know what you are doing out her this late at night, deep in these woods like this. There could be something out here looking for prey."
    She nodded. "Thank you, sir. Now I must be on my way."
    "Hold on a minute, girl," he grabbed her waist, "You never told me what you are doing out here all alone in this forest."
    "What's it to you?" She added.
    Damn attitude, He thought. "Nothing, just wanted to know, trying to keep you safe."   
    He ended up getting her to explain why. Then, he started to get to know her. They sat down and talked about everything. Like, how old she is, which is 15 by the way, her favorite type of music, what they like doing walking around in dark forests(he had to lie of course), he asked her what her name was. She said Skylar and he told that it was a beautiful name. His final question was what her favortite type of book to read was. She had answered anything about vampires.
    He asked, "Why  anything about vampires?"
    "Well," She started, "The fascinate me. They are beautiful creatures. I do believe that they are real, though some people do otherwise. "
    He smiled at her. "I wanna tell you something."
    "Okay." She said.
    "Alright, well I'm a real vampire." He said.
    She looked at him. "Really?"
    "Yup."
    He showed her his fangs and her eyes got all wide. "I have more to add to that."
    She nodded as he went on saying how his parents want him to marry a purebred vampire like him but he wanted to marry mortal, but in order to do that he has to make her a vampire too. He had said that it wasn't fair that he couldn't marry who ever he wants.  All she did was nod again. "So, where do you live?" he asked to break the silence.
    "Up there." she answered as she pointed to the mansion on top of the hill.
    "I live on the other hill behind me." he said.
    "Awesome. I always wanted to sneak into there but I never got the chance to."
    He laughed. "Well it's a good thing you didn't or you would've gotten eaten by my brother and father"
    They sat there and enjoyed the night. The light of the moon shone on them. He really likes this girl. I can't let anything happen to her, he thought. "Oh my, I really have to go. My parents are going to have a fit." She broke the silence.
    "Oh. Alright then." He answered.
    He went to give her a hug and a kiss goodnight. It was already one in the morning. He had to tell his parents about this girl. But he has to make her fall in love with him first. "Goodnight" she said as she interrupted his train of thought.
    "Night" he said as she walked away.
    "Hold on, wait," He called after her. She turned around. "Tomorrow night, around the same time,would you like to meet again?"
    She nodded and continued to walk home. He was really determined to make her his bride. As he walked home that night, all he could think of was her. Skylar, what an amazing name for an amazing girl. When he walked in, his family swarmed him. "You smell like a mortal, Kai. What were you doing?" his mother asked.
    "I met someone?" he answered.
    His brother added, "That someone being a mortal, did you bring them home to share?"
    "No." he said.
    "Did you bring them here at all? Are they outside?" his father asked as he looked out the window.
    "No, why would I bring anyone here? All you guys wanna do is eat them. I have a life ya know." he shouted, "Besides, I'm going to make this girl I met my wife, and there isn't much you can do about it. He walked up the stairs to his room.
    His family stood there in awe while Kai walked away. All he did that night was think of her, how he'd make her his at the end of their meeting tomorrow. He hoped his plan would work. I will marry her. he said in his head.
