Chapter 2
When Skylar got home, she tried to be as quiet as she could possibly be so she wouldn't wake up her parents. That didn't work at all. Her little brother left his toys in front of the door and she had tripped and fell. Suddenly, the lights for the upstairs went on. Oh s**t, she thought, I'm dead now. Why can't I fly or transport. I wish I was upstairs now.
Her parents and her little brother were now walking down the stairs. She stood up and brushed off. “Why are you in so late?” her father asked sternly.
“I...I lost track of time. I swear, and it was because I had met someone. We started talking and we lost track of time. I really didn't mean to be so late. I'm sorry”
Her father looked at her. “Who was he?”
“His name is Kai. He wants to meet up again tomorrow night at the same time we met tonight. I agreed and I just can't bail on him. That would be mean. If you say no, I'll go anyways. It's not like he's dangerous or anything like that.” Skylar said.
Her mother started to say something, but her father cut in, “Skylar, you can not go see this guy. I forbid it. He may not seem dangerous, but you never know, he could be very dangerous.”
“I don't care, I am going to go meet him anyways. There's nothing you can do about it!” she yelled at them.
“Maybe you should listen to your father, Sky. This guy you met yesterday, he could most definitely be a creeper.”
“So a 16 year-old is a creeper, huh?” Skylar asked.
“Just go, go to your room. Go to bed, we'll talk about this later.” her father demanded.
“Whatever.” she said as she walked up the stairs.
That night, all she could think of was Kai. You know, when a girl finds a guy she likes, all she does is think about them. Skylar thought about the way his hair set on his shoulders, or how deep and mysterious his eyes were. She thought of his smile, it was so nice to look at. His laugh was so deep but so relaxing.
She didn't sleep that night. All night, she thought of ways on how she could sneak out that night. Ugh, dad is probably going to have some guards look out for me so I don't go any wheres. He's such an a** half the time. I wish I could run away forever.
She got up out of bed and went back downstairs for something to eat. As she was walking down the hallway, she heard her parents talking about her. They were saying how much of a trouble maker she is and that they were thinking of sending her away to her Aunt's house for a while. “Great, my parents don't want me,” she whispered to herself, “fine then, I'm gone. Tonight.”
She ran back to her room and grabbed stuff that she would think she would need. She walked down the stairs, watching where she walked since earlier she tripped coming in the door, and walked out. She walked through the dark woods once again, heading towards Kai's house.
She suddenly stopped since she heard something. Skylar looked around and tried to stay as still as possible. What's out here? She asked herself. She then started walking more. She was acting way paranoid. She felt someone watching her. She looked behind her and no one was there. She turned forward once again, only to face Kai's brother standing right in front of her. Though, she had no idea Kai even had a brother.
“Hello girl. You're very pretty looking. May I have a bite of you?” he then asked.
