Chapter 3
“Hey Mom” Kai yelled.
“What Kai?” she yelled back.
“Where are you?”
“In the kitchen”
Kai hopped down the stairs and walked into the kitchen. “Could you have been a little more louder, Kai?” his mom asked.
“Sure why not?, but anyways Mom, have you seen the shirt I was wearin' earlier? I accidentally threw it in the laundry. Plus, I was gonna wear it again since it wasn't dirty.”
His mom answered with, “Nope. Haven't seen it. Ask your brother. I thought I saw him going through the laundry and I think I saw him take your shirt and leave. That brother of yours. I have no idea what he does.”
“Oh no. That shirt I had, it had that girl's scent on it. You don't think he would....?I gotta go Mom. I'll be back later. Something bad is gonna happen..” Kai said as he rushed out the door.

Skylar was so scared. She couldn't even talk. All she did was be stupid. She let this creeper guy get closer and closer to her. “Hmmm, you're that girl my brother was with a couple of hours ago. Your scent was left on his shirt that I have right here.” he said, “He didn't want to take a bite out of you.He wants to protect you. Poor little Kai, wants to protect a poor little mortal. Well, guess what. He isn't here. I, however, am, and I've been waiting for someone like you to feast on. Now I finally get what I want for once.”
Kai's brother had the most sinister smile on. He pulled Skylar close, leaned her head back, and went in for the bite. Kai cut in and his brother dropped Skylar. “Chaos, what the hell were you thinking?” Kai yelled.
“Dear brother, what good is a vampire if they can't take a bite out of a perfectly good mortal?” Chaos asked.
“What is the point of a wife if you killed and ate her?” Kai said.
Kai turned to Skylar. “What were you doing out here anyways? I told you these woods are dangerous at night.”
Skylar stood up. “I...I was going to your house. My family, well my parents, want to send me away to my Aunt's, so I was hoping I could stay at your house for a while. I love where I live, and if I were to go away from it, I wouldn't be any happier if I left.
“Well darlin', either way, it would be dangerous. My family would try to kill and eat you. Take Chaos for example. He took my shirt to try and sniff you out. Look, he did. If I hadn't found him in time, you would've been dead. The smell of you is just intoxicating. You're like no other girl. Your blood is probably just as intoxicating. My family could smell you on me as soon as I walked into my house. You wouldn't be able to survive in my house unless you were one of us. Besides, any other vampire that is able to turn mortals into a vampire could kill you if they tried. It's all you. The way you are. No vampire would have control.” Kai said.
Skylar just stood there and looked up at him. Chaos left because he was tired. She said she was sorry for all the trouble she caused and that she should just go to her Aunt's house. But, before she left, she asked Kai a question that left him speechless. “If no vampire can resist me, than why can you? The only thing you did was give me a hug.”
“Well I don't know to tell you the truth. The hug was to keep your scent. It was just incase I were to never see you again.” Kai said.
“ Well you're seeing me now, and this may be the last time you will ever see me.” Sky said.
Kai looked at her. Skylar started to walk away. She didn't want to live at her Aunt's house. Her Aunt hated her and she hated her Aunt. She was thinking she could live by herself outside. Kai just watched as she walked away. Chaos appeared once again. “Your just gonna let the girl you love walk away like that? Let her live with us.”
“Why so you can feast on her?” Kai asked.
“No. Turn her. You are the only one that would have enough control without killing her. Besides, then she would be yours. Poison to anyone else. I'll tell Mom what you are doing. Possibly Dad too. He'll most likely find out anyways with her scent. I'll tell them everything. Okay?” Chaos said.
“Wow. Nice much? Were you listening to our conversation?” Asked Kai.
“Possibly”Chaos answered.
Chaos went back to his house to tell his family what's going on while Kai went after Skylar. As he was running after her, he thought Wow, Chaos has a heart. What the hell is going on?
