What is a friend supposed to do
When they don’t know what to say
To a girl who is crying over events that may not even have happened
Is a friend supposed to agree?
Is a friend supposed to share their opinion on the matter?
Or should a friend just sit quiet
So she doesn’t say anything wrong
I don’t know
I haven’t really been a friend to many before
But I’m trying my hardest
I don’t know whether I’m doing anything right
But at least I try
If I could force the tears away
I would in a heartbeat
If I could spy on her to find out the truth
I would without thinking whether or not it’s the right thing
I wish I was there to comfort you
I wish there was some way you could find out the truth
I wish she was the one to tell you the truth
I wish my wishes would come true
But they won’t
Unless you find out the truth in an awful way
By seeing her with him
I know that would break your heart
Make you want to die
And I know if that ever happens
I’ll feel your pain
Just like I always have

It won’t be the end of the world
It will simply be a hard time
A hard time that you will get through
